Senior Manager, Quality

Thyme CareRemote, United States
$145,250 - $165,000

About The Position

As Senior Manager, Quality, you will own Thyme Care’s approach to contractual quality performance, including HEDIS, Stars, partner-specific quality measures, and other emerging quality priorities and opportunities. You will own the end-to-end operationalization of quality measures and campaigns—from understanding the measure and identifying the opportunity, to designing the workflow, developing job aids and enablement, coordinating implementation, monitoring execution, and evaluating performance. This portfolio includes measures and programs such as seasonal flu vaccination, health risk assessments, in-home wellness assessments, transition of care measures, preventive screenings, and other payer-specific quality initiatives. This is both an operational and analytical role. You will be expected to work directly with quality and operational data, investigate performance questions, define reporting requirements and measure logic, and translate findings into practical workflows and interventions. You’ll partner closely with Data and Product, while also working directly with Care Teams and Operations to make sure campaigns can be executed reliably in practice. Reporting to the Director of Quality, this is an opportunity to build and scale a critical capability and improve patient outcomes. As capacity allows, you may also contribute to broader Quality priorities such as accreditation, member complaints, and patient safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in healthcare quality, quality operations, population health, value-based care, managed care, health plan operations, consulting, or a related field.
  • Meaningful experience with HEDIS, Stars, payer quality measures, or other healthcare quality performance programs.
  • Translated quality, clinical, or payer requirements into operational workflows and successfully implemented them across frontline teams.
  • Experience prioritizing across multiple quality opportunities, balancing expected impact, contractual importance, operational effort, feasibility, and team capacity.
  • Strong project and program management skills, including experience managing multiple concurrent campaigns or initiatives with different owners, populations, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Independently analyzed healthcare or operational data and translated findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced in Excel or Google Sheets, including working with large datasets, complex formulas, and data validation.
  • Working proficiency with SQL, or comparable experience independently querying and manipulating complex datasets.
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent platforms.
  • Can define reporting requirements, measure logic, and data specifications in partnership with Data or Analytics teams.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, from staff-facing operational guidance to performance updates, tradeoffs, and recommendations for senior and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing member outreach campaigns, care-team workflows, tasking, job aids, or training in support of quality measures.
  • Experience working with claims, eligibility, clinical, care management, or quality-measure datasets.
  • Experience building dashboards, automated reporting, or reusable quality analytics workflows.
  • Direct experience with NCQA HEDIS specifications or Stars programs.
  • Experience with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid managed care, or risk adjustment.
  • Experience using automation or AI to support quality reporting, gap identification, or workflow efficiency.
  • CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma, or related quality improvement or analytics training.

Responsibilities

  • Own the portfolio of HEDIS, Stars, contractual quality measures, and related campaigns across Thyme Care’s payer partnerships.
  • Translate measure specifications and partner requirements into executable workflows, including member identification, tasking, outreach models, roles, timelines, escalation paths, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain the job aids, SOPs, training, and enablement needed for Care Teams and Operations to execute campaigns consistently.
  • Lead implementation of initiatives such as vaccinations, HRAs, in-home wellness assessments, preventive screenings, transition-of-care measures, and other quality gap-closure programs.
  • Independently analyze quality and operational data to identify gaps, validate performance, understand drivers, and recommend interventions.
  • Establish performance metrics and operating cadences for each initiative and monitor and report updates on both measure outcomes and operational execution.
  • Conduct retrospectives, root cause analyses, and structured improvement cycles to identify where workflows are breaking down and improve future performance.
  • Partner with Data as needed to define measure logic, dashboards, patient lists, gap reporting, and automated monitoring; independently validate outputs and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Lead cross-functional execution across Partnership Operations, Care Teams, Clinical, Data, Product, Marketing, and Care Delivery Operations.
  • Build repeatable playbooks, campaign calendars, prioritization processes, and operating infrastructure that allow Thyme Care to support a growing portfolio of quality measures.
  • Apply automation and AI to improve processes, structured data capture, reporting files, and other capabilities that reduce manual work and make quality programs easier to scale.
  • Surface risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to senior leaders and contribute to the Quality Committee and other quality governance activities.
