About The Position

The Senior Manager Project Office & Portfolio Management, Americas Region, serves as a strategic partner to the Regional Management and project execution organization, supporting the execution of key business priorities in the project portfolio. The role provides transparency across the project portfolio, enables informed decision-making through meaningful reporting and analysis, and acts as an early-warning mechanism for risks, issues, and project delivery challenges. In addition, the role supports Project Owners in driving successful project outcomes, ensuring effective governance, alignment with business objectives, and consistent execution across the portfolio. Furthermore, when delegated to him, the Senior Manager Project Office & Portfolio Management takes over the role of Project Owner for dedicated projects.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Project Management, Portfolio Management and Analysis
  • Proven track record of working with senior executives and leadership teams
  • Proven track record in project management and operations experience coupled with 15+ years of experience, ideally within the industrial or large-scale project business or plant construction
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including executive-level reporting
  • Ability to navigate complex environments and drive alignment across multiple functions
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all project interactions and decisions

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor and strategic support function to the Regional Management
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and decision-making materials
  • Facilitate leadership reviews, Board committees, and Regional Management forums
  • Conduct analyses of project performance, strategic initiatives, and operational priorities
  • Drive and coordinate cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the Regional Management
  • Analyze and continuously enhance the regional project portfolio
  • Provide transparency on portfolio status, progress, dependencies and risks
  • Consolidate portfolio information into actionable insights for executive leadership
  • Maintain portfolio governance standards, reporting structures, and performance metrics
  • Support prioritization and alignment of strategic initiatives across business functions
  • Serve as a key partner and advisor to Project Owners throughout the project lifecycle
  • Challenge assumptions, identify risks, and support mitigation planning
  • Ensure adherence to governance standards, methodologies, and reporting requirements
  • Facilitate issue resolution and help remove barriers impacting successful project execution
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement in project execution
  • Take over the role of Project Owner in dedicated projects as delegate of the Regional Management
  • Monitor project health, milestones, budgets, chances and resource utilization
  • Identify emerging risks, issues, and execution concerns at an early stage
  • Develop recommendations and corrective actions together with Project Owners and stakeholders
  • Escalate critical risks and deviations to the Regional Management and project execution organization
  • Drive a proactive performance management culture across the portfolio
  • Enable effective execution of strategic business priorities through robust portfolio oversight
  • Provide the Regional Management with timely, accurate, and actionable insights for decision-making
  • Improve portfolio performance, governance maturity, and execution excellence
  • Foster transparency, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration across strategic initiatives
  • Ensure risks and delivery challenges are identified and addressed before they impact business objectives
