Senior Manager, Product Telemetry & Analytics

AlteryxWashington, DC
$183,125 - $200,450Hybrid

About The Position

We are hiring a Senior Manager, Product Telemetry & Analytics to lead the team behind how Alteryx understands product usage and customer behavior. Our telemetry function has grown from supporting Product to supporting the company: Finance, Customer Success, Rev Ops, and Sales all depend on this data to make decisions. You will lead a team based in India that owns instrumentation, the semantic layer, and the self-serve analytics platform that makes product data available across the business. You are accountable for how the function runs: prioritization and capacity, enablement and adoption, team visibility, and talent development. This role is based on the East Coast to maximize overlap with the team's working hours and reports to the Sr. Director, Customer Signals.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product telemetry, product analytics, analytics engineering, or data roles, including at least 3 years managing a team
  • Demonstrated ownership of an analytics or data operating model: intake, prioritization, capacity planning, and service expectations
  • Experience building self-service analytics or internal data products that teams could find, understand, and trust
  • Track record of executive communication: setting expectations, framing tradeoffs, and earning trust with senior stakeholders
  • Fluent enough in both product analytics and data architecture to be credible in either conversation, without needing to be the expert in the room
  • Experience leading a team based outside the U.S., ideally in India, across a significant time zone difference

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI-native or agent-queryable data infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Amplitude, or comparable warehouse and behavioral analytics platforms
  • Experience in enterprise software with a complex user journey, or in PLG and product adoption environments
  • Hands-on background in SQL, dbt, or pipeline work, even if not current
  • Experience working alongside UX research, VOC, or experience measurement functions

Responsibilities

  • Own a single intake path for telemetry and analytics requests across Product, Finance, CS, Rev Ops, and IT, balancing planned platform work against urgent executive asks
  • Partner with technical leadership on feasibility, dependency order, and sequencing
  • Build enablement into a standing program so each function can find, understand, and trust the data on its own, and grow the share of demand served through self-serve
  • Govern metric definitions so the same number means the same thing in every forum
  • Own how the function is represented to leadership: what is shipping, what is blocked, what changed, and what it means, with recommendations rather than status
  • Lead and develop a team based in India, including talent assessment, performance, career paths, and the skills the function needs as it becomes more AI-native

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid parental leave, caregiver leave, and flexible time off
  • Mental health support and wellness reimbursement
  • Career development and education assistance
  • A monthly Connectivity Plus stipend of $150 to support remote work-related expenses
  • An annual $200 home office reimbursement
