About The Position

Datadog is hiring a senior product design manager to lead design across its security products. The role leads designers working across cloud, code, and data security, shaping products that help security practitioners identify threats and exposures and take action. The manager owns design direction and quality, partners closely with Product and Engineering leadership, and is accountable for the product and business outcomes influenced by the team’s work. The position includes coaching and growing designers across the Paris, Madrid, and New York offices; contributing to a security design system built on Datadog’s existing components; and helping evolve cross-platform thinking, roadmaps, and day-to-day collaboration among Design, Product, and Engineering. The manager is expected to bring AI fluency to design workflows, including exploring, validating, and shipping design work, and to use AI coding tools in day-to-day work while validating, critiquing, and refining AI-generated output. Requirements

10+ years of experience in design, including experience leading and growing high-performing teams.
Strong design leadership, user advocacy, attention to detail, taste, and willingness to participate in the work and provide direct feedback.
A track record of improving a team's output, with examples showing how leadership transformed product design.
Experience leading complex products or features, such as a zero-to-one launch or reimagining an established product.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
Ability to demonstrate AI fluency in personal work or in leading teams through AI adoption.
Comfort navigating the technical complexity of modern software development and cloud infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and validate, critique, and refine AI-generated output.

Responsibilities

Lead design direction across the team's products and uphold design excellence across interactions, visual detail, consistency, and cohesion.
Run design critiques, provide direct and useful feedback, and guide the team toward bold, opinionated solutions.
Coach and grow designers across the Paris, Madrid, and New York offices.
Help define a security design system built on Datadog's existing components and informed by security practitioners' workflows.
Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to evolve cross-platform thinking, shape roadmaps, and establish how the disciplines work together.
Take accountability for product and business outcomes influenced by the team's design work.
Bring AI fluency to the team's design workflows, from exploration and validation through shipping.
