This role is for a Senior Manager, Procurement in Canada, responsible for supporting the Canadian business across the full procurement lifecycle, including stakeholder engagement, sourcing, contracting, and supplier management. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement supporting commercial spend areas, such as Professional Services, Technology, Digital, Marketing, Media, Market Research, and Data.
  • Experience across core procurement processes, particularly third-party contracting, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Demonstrated experience across procurement processes, including: strategy development and execution, third party contracting, stakeholder management, business partnering, and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
  • Proven contract drafting and negotiation experience, including agreements such as Master Service Agreements (MSA), Software as a Service Agreements (SaaS), Statements of Work (SOW), and related third-party contracts.
  • Experience leading competitive sourcing activities, including end-to-end execution of RFx processes (RFP, RFQ, RFI).

  • Experience in Pharma/Biotech or another highly regulated environment.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity or limited information.
  • Proven negotiation and project management experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft tools and SAP Ariba modules.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the best interests of the Canadian market by aligning closely with Regional and Global category teams.
  • Act as the local subject matter expert, providing market insights and business requirements to support effective regional and global strategy development and execution.
  • Execute global and local sourcing strategies across multiple spend categories within scope, including Professional Services, Technology, Digital, Marketing, Media, Market Research, and Data, operating with a global mindset while ensuring all relevant local and regional considerations are addressed.
  • Understand commercial standards and ensure category alignment for third-party processes and services.
  • Support the business in understanding and complying with GSK Procurement policies, ensuring users are appropriately trained and supported.
  • Serve as the local expert on third party oversight and risk management frameworks to protect GSK in supplier interactions and contracting activities.
  • Ensure financial benefits are managed in accordance with the Global spend management framework, including alignment with Finance and business stakeholders on value delivery and transparency in budget treatment.
  • Deliver Procurement targets against agreed budgets (Plans of Purchase) in collaboration with key stakeholders and Finance ensuring alignment with the global and regional budgets.
  • Identify and deliver value aligned to assurance of supply, quality, service, cost, and innovation through effective execution of category strategies.
  • Drive operational efficiencies by ensuring compliance with contract and preferred supplier lists, while actively managing tail spend.
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with local GSK stakeholders to understand business needs, identify value-creation opportunities, and clearly articulate Procurement’s value proposition.
  • Influence stakeholders and business partners to support strategy development, endorse recommended sourcing approaches, enable execution, and align on how benefit realization and budgeting.
  • Ensure third party contracts are proactively managed ahead of expiration to support business continuity and long -term value.
  • Define and negotiate commercial terms and manage the contracting process, partnering closely with Legal to meet business requirements.
  • Execute and manage effective supplier contracts that enable GSK to maximize value both locally and globally, ensuring global perspectives are incorporated into supplier negotiations.
  • Ensure all contracts are valid, compliant, and accurately maintained within GSK’s contract management systems.
  • Manage the local supply base for in-scope categories through robust supplier relationship and performance management processes, ensuring supplier performance is measured and understood.
  • Establish effective processes and communication links between country-level supplier organizations and local, regional, and global networks, cascading information across suppliers and GSK stakeholders.
  • Support the transformation of supply chain to unlock value and increase responsiveness to business and customer needs, including cost control, complexity reduction, simplification, and adoption of best-practice procurement approaches and KPIs.
  • Identify, assess, and manage significant supply chain and third-party risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation plans are developed, implemented, and clearly communicated to impacted business units.

  • Annual compensation for this role is CAD110,000 to CAD160,000
