About The Position

Lead high-impact pursuit strategy and business growth at a premier IP law firm. Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, a global leader in intellectual property law, is seeking a Senior Manager, Pitches & Pursuits to lead the firm’s pursuit and proposal function within the Business and Client Development team. Working closely with attorneys, firm leadership, and business professionals, this Senior Manager will guide pursuit strategy, competitive positioning, and client-focused messaging, while overseeing proposals, presentations, RFP responses, and other key initiatives. The role will also lead the Pitches & Pursuits team, fostering collaboration, supporting team members, and enhancing the quality, efficiency, and impact of pursuit activities that support the firm’s growth objectives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in business development, proposal management, pursuit management, marketing, or other professional services settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead complex pursuits and business development initiatives.
• Ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, firm leadership, and colleagues in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead pitches, proposals, and RFP responses to maximize competitive positioning and win rates.
• Advise attorneys and firm leadership on business development opportunities, pursuit strategy, differentiators, and client engagement.
• Oversee the firm’s proposal function, implementing processes, quality standards, and best practices that enhance consistency, efficiency, and overall pursuit effectiveness.
• Partner across Business Development, Branding & Communications, Pricing, and other teams to develop compelling, client-facing materials.
• Drive pursuit analytics, pipeline reporting, win/loss reviews, and business development intelligence to deliver actionable insights and support continuous improvement.
• Lead and mentor the Pitches & Pursuits team, managing resources, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and enhancing the effectiveness of firmwide business development initiatives.
