About The Position

The Senior Manager - Pharmacy role involves a multifaceted approach to client and team management within a pharmacy setting. This position serves as a primary liaison between the company and its clients, leading meetings, addressing client needs, and developing action plans to improve program processes and services. The role also encompasses significant team management responsibilities, including ensuring contractual obligations are met, improving operational performance, managing staffing needs, and fostering a motivated and high-performing team. Additionally, the Senior Manager will be involved in business development, training and mentoring staff, managing budgets and expenses, ensuring quality and compliance with program standards, and providing organizational leadership to support company initiatives and values. Collaboration across various groups for program projects and system updates is also a key aspect of the role, with potential travel required for client meetings, trainings, or team support.

Requirements

  • Past experience in client management, communications, project implementation, and contract management.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs with various call center and pharmacy metrics.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively related responsibility.
  • At least three (3) years at a supervisory level.
  • General knowledge of patient assistance programs and pharmacy management.
  • Call center management or exposure.
  • Client management experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop others.
  • Ability to collaborate and work across groups to make decisions and resolve issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks along a parallel process.
  • Ability to resolve associate issues effectively and efficiently.

  • A four-year degree is preferred.
  • General understanding of health care payer research, healthcare policy and payer landscape preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between company and client, leading client meetings, fielding questions and requests, interpreting client needs, and developing action plans.
  • Work with the management team to monitor, assess, and identify strategies to improve program processes, services, systems, and analysis.
  • Provide internal advocacy for clients.
  • Ensure the team meets contractual obligations and seek ways to improve operational performance.
  • Identify staffing needs and work with leadership and HR to recruit appropriate staff.
  • Serve as the interface for cross-functional activities.
  • Design programs to maintain high motivation among team members.
  • Establish goals for the team and conduct performance reviews of the management team.
  • Provide training and mentoring to team members and conduct career development discussions.
  • Hold regular meetings with the team and one-on-one meetings with managers.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and partner with Human Resources in resolving associate relations issues.
  • Partner with New Business Development in customizing and making capabilities presentations to prospective clients.
  • Partner with New Business Development to write proposals for new and existing customers.
  • Stay abreast of new business development opportunities.
  • Influence clients by helping them see advantages of using other company services.
  • Identify new services to existing programs that add value to both the client and the company.
  • Translate organizational strategies into team goals.
  • Lead training sessions.
  • Mentor managers and other members of the pharmacy team.
  • Develop plans to facilitate growth and development for team members.
  • Help identify potential opportunities for team members.
  • Coach and counsel managers and assistant managers, helping them prepare for the next level.
  • Manage monthly budget and expenses.
  • Complete follow-up on outstanding invoices.
  • Participate in budget development.
  • Explain to clients how quality is ensured and tracked.
  • Implement and ensure processes are in place to monitor quality and program compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance team on program audits.
  • Work with the leadership team to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Support company initiatives.
