About The Position

This role involves overseeing and managing shift activities within ports and terminals, focusing on vessel, rail, and road operations to ensure targets and deadlines are met. The position requires effective staff allocation and engagement, aiming for optimal productivity and service reliability for customers. The Senior Manager will contribute to achieving business and operational objectives, supervising a team of terminal supervisors to foster efficiency and effectiveness. Key responsibilities include liaising with other departments for support, ensuring smooth inter-shift workflow, maintaining safe working practices, and driving continuous improvement. The role also demands ensuring timely vessel berthing and un-berthing, communicating potential operational issues to management, conducting process control checks, and supporting performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, it involves managing customer and vendor relationships and acting as the first point of contact for emergency situations and damage assessments, with clear communication to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Senior level experience in Operations within Ports & Terminals.
  • Experience in monitoring shift activities including vessel/rail/road operations.
  • Proven ability to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Experience in job allocation and staff engagement (company and outsourced).
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve optimum productivity levels and service reliability.
  • Experience in contributing to business/operational targets and objectives.
