About The Position

PromptCare is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager of Pharmacy Operations to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the pharmacy operations in Louisiana and Mississippi, responsible for the supervision of pharmacy personnel as well as the oversight, management and safety of pharmacy operations including compounding, dispensing, scheduling, purchasing, distribution and regulatory compliance. This person may also serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for state licensing as need. The ideal candidate will work with leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance patient care and drive innovation and growth and differentiate PromptCare’s competitive positioning with referral sources, payor and manufacturers. Requirements

  • B.S. degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with specialty drugs
  • Previous experience in a leadership role (e.g., pharmacy manager, director of pharmacy)
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and resources
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to pharmacy and healthcare
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in the pharmacy industry

Nice To Haves

  • PharmD or MS degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years recent clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Certification in Specialty Pharmacy preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of infusion therapies preferred
  • Recent inventory management experience preferred
  • Accuracy in mathematical calculations including pharmacokinetic dosing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct oversight, leadership and management for all pharmacy processes and employees ensuring appropriate coverage in absence of staff in associated territory ensuring highest quality of care
  • Ensures uninterrupted processing, filling, compounding and distribution of medication, supplies and equipment according to established policies and procedures
  • Ensures ongoing compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, pharmacy licensure requirements, accreditation standards, OSHA, CDC, FDA and USP guidelines
  • Partner with leadership and other functional areas to enhance the end-to-end patient care journey and optimize our processes and workflows
  • Identify, develop and lead initiatives with leadership and sales that drive growth and strategy and enhance our competitive differentiation in key markets
  • Explore opportunities to grow in new markets, therapy lines or referral sources using data driven processes
  • Completes pharmacy inspections on an ongoing basis to ensure connectivity, compliance, and communication across all sites
  • Develops and maintains pharmacy policies and procedures, education, and training materials
  • Sets goals and objectives for the pharmacy department and assists in the formulation of organizational goals and objectives
  • Supervises overall inventory control and purchasing
  • Hiring, training, development, evaluation, promotion, and termination of pharmacy employees
  • Performs duties of staff pharmacist when required
  • Design and implement mechanisms to establish ongoing accountability within pharmacy staff to improve work performance and increase operational efficiencies
  • Counsel patients on therapy management, side effects, and other pertinent issues relative to the patient’s disease/condition and other concerns based on package insert and comorbidities
  • Respond to all patient issues, requests for clinical information and other concerns that may adversely impact adherence and compliance
  • Shipping optimization between courier and UPS - create regions and rules around shipping
  • Other duties as assigned
