About The Position

The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA) is seeking a Senior Manager of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement to develop and implement annual giving strategies, donor engagement programs, donor recognition initiatives, prospect development efforts, and donor analytics functions for CAPA and assigned shared-service organizations. This role involves maintaining a portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects, supervising staff, and serving as the lead fundraiser and staff liaison for Festival Latino sponsorship fundraising and sponsor engagement activities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Typically, 3+ years of experience working in fundraising, annual giving, or donor engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing annual giving strategies, donor engagement programs, donor recognition initiatives, prospect development efforts, and donor analytics functions.
  • Maintaining a portfolio of approximately 50-100 mid-level donors and prospects.
  • Supervising annual giving and donor operations staff.
  • Serving as lead fundraiser and staff liaison for Festival Latino sponsorship fundraising and sponsor engagement activities.
  • Coordinating with Development and Marketing department team members to understand CAPA and Shared Services and how donor stewardship and campaigns serve CAPA's mission.
  • Learning the details of CAPA's donor database and how it is used, becoming proficient at querying the database.
  • Meeting Shared Services clients and becoming familiar with the assigned donor profile.
  • Managing a portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Conducting donor meetings, phone calls, and engagement activities.
  • Identifying and qualifying prospective donors through research, engagement activities, and data analysis.
  • Maintaining accurate donor records, contact reports, and moves management activities within the donor database.
  • Supervising the Annual Fund Manager, Data & Analytics Coordinator, and Data Entry Associate.
  • Establishing goals, priorities, and performance expectations for assigned staff.
  • Working closely with the Data & Analytics Coordinator to ensure data integrity and effective use of Tessitura.
  • Supporting prospect identification, qualification, and portfolio assignment processes.
  • Developing and overseeing annual giving strategies for CAPA and assigned organizations, including donor renewal, acquisition, retention, and reactivation efforts.
  • Creating annual fundraising plans, campaign calendars, and revenue projections in collaboration with fundraising leadership.
  • Overseeing multi-channel annual fund campaigns including direct mail, email, digital fundraising, recurring giving, and donor engagement initiatives.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and recommending strategy adjustments.
  • Collaborating with marketing and communications staff to ensure effective donor-focused messaging and campaign execution.
  • Developing and implementing annual giving initiatives designed to increase donor retention, upgrade rates, and lifetime donor value.
  • Supporting portfolio development and prospect movement strategies for the Vice President of Development and Development Directors.
  • Developing and maintaining fundraising dashboards, pipeline reports, and donor engagement metrics.
  • Overseeing donor segmentation strategies and annual fund performance analysis.
  • Supervising donor analytics, prospect development, and annual fund reporting functions.
  • Providing coaching, professional development, and ongoing performance feedback to staff.
  • Collaborating with fundraising leadership to establish departmental priorities and workflows.
  • Serving as a liaison between fundraising staff and donor database operations.
  • Developing and managing donor recognition programs, giving societies, and donor engagement initiatives.
  • Creating strategies that encourage donor upgrades and progression through annual giving levels.
  • Evaluating participation trends and recommending enhancements to donor recognition and stewardship programs.
  • Partnering with fundraising leadership to establish donor benefits, recognition opportunities, and engagement experiences.
  • Creating and implementing stewardship plans designed to enhance donor engagement and long-term support.
  • Leading sponsorship fundraising efforts for Festival Latino.
  • Cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate sponsors and individual supporters.
  • Serving as staff liaison to the Festival Latino Steering Committee.
  • Coordinating sponsor engagement, recognition, and stewardship activities.
  • Supporting revenue growth and sponsor retention strategies.

Benefits

  • Annual Base pay for this role is $60,000 - $70,000.
