About The Position

This is a greenfield leadership role responsible for standing up the network infrastructure, building the team, defining the strategy, and delivering on tight timelines for advanced manufacturing operations at unprecedented scale. The role centers on managing ambiguity, building scalable team structures, and driving long-term organizational goals. The individual will own the end-to-end network strategy across the ISA-95/Purdue Model architecture, from shop floor industrial networks through supervisory control layers to enterprise connectivity. The role involves designing networks that bridge OT and IT domains while maintaining rigorous security segmentation and compliance.

Requirements

  • Experience in Linux and Networking protocols, or experience in managing firewalls and experience in web security
  • 12+ years of experience in network engineering, network architecture, or network operations, with progressive leadership responsibility
  • 5+ years of experience managing managers and building network engineering organizations
  • 10+ years of experience with IP networking fundamentals and extensive application of IP protocols, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, and network analysis/troubleshooting
  • 8+ years working with major network operating systems such as Cisco IOS, Junos, Arista EOS, or similar platforms
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial/manufacturing network environments, including OT/IT convergence and industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, or Profinet)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
  • Experience in Linux and Networking protocols, or experience with automation and any version control tools and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities

  • Experience with industrial control systems (SCADA, DCS, PLC) and their network requirements

Responsibilities

  • Be hands-on, personally designing, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting network infrastructure until the team is fully built.
  • Define the network architecture strategy where requirements are evolving alongside concurrent product, process, equipment, and facility development.
  • Design the right team structure, mechanisms, and hiring plan to build the network development organization from scratch, including recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent across multiple locations.
  • Own end-to-end OT/IT network convergence across the ISA-95/Purdue Model, from shop floor industrial networks (OPC UA, MQTT, Profinet, EtherNet/IP) through supervisory control to enterprise connectivity (MES, ERP, PLM).
  • Architect networks that scale across manufacturing phases, from prototype operations through pilot production to high-volume manufacturing, ensuring capacity stays ahead of demand at each phase.
  • Drive network security and compliance for manufacturing environments, including OT/IT segmentation, industrial cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443), and secure remote access for equipment vendors.
  • Establish operational excellence mechanisms and closed-loop processes to identify at-risk projects, audit customer experience and quality, drive cost efficiencies, and remove bottlenecks across the organization.
