About The Position

Humana is seeking licensed agents with management experience to join their team as Senior Manager, Medicare Sales. This field-based role involves coaching, mentoring, and motivating a team of sales individuals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Medicare market, operational problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive sales while adhering to CMS guidelines. Responsibilities include building relationships with internal and external partners and the community, developing marketing budgets, and identifying branding opportunities. The position requires residing in or relocating to the Grand Rapids area and involves significant field work within the Western Michigan market.

Requirements

  • Must reside in the Grand Rapids/Western MI area or be willing to relocate.
  • Active Health Insurance license.
  • 2+ years of Medicare sales or other related sales experience.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Experience leading a team of sales associates, training in successful sales techniques, educational presentation skills, utilizing technology tools as well as building relationships with communities and medical providers.
  • Strong aptitude for technology with proficiency in MS Office products, various CRM platforms, and various iPhone app capabilities.
  • Background as a strong leader, strong producer.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt and overcome when necessary.
  • Community Engagement/Grassroots experience in marketing Medicare plans in the community.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
  • Valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance meeting at least 25/25/10 coverage limits (or higher, based on state requirements).
  • Self-provided internet service with at least a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor, educate, motivate and train a team of sales individuals.
  • Resolve operational problems and provide creative solutions to increase sales while following CMS guidelines.
  • Cultivate, maintain, and build relationships with Humana’s customers, both internal and external business partners, along with the community.
  • Develop marketing budgets.
  • Look for branding opportunities.
  • Meet with your team and go with them on periodic appointments and/or events, which may require some evenings and weekends.
