About The Position

AbbVie Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Medical Monitoring Analytics, Oncology in North Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The position involves supporting the adoption of advanced technologies and processes for enterprise data analytics within the Oncology Medical & Scientific Director group, aiming to maximize the value of data and analytics. The role includes mentoring junior staff, leading the development and validation of innovative algorithms using AI/ML, overseeing complex R&D Clinical Development projects, representing the Medical & Safety Analytics team in regulatory and governance meetings, supervising resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with regulations, GCPs, ICH guidelines, and SOPs.

Requirements

  • MS in statistics, mathematics, analytics, bioinformatics, data science or equivalent field, & 2 years applying data science analytics techniques in pharma industry.
  • 2 years coding using R & Python.
  • 2 years performing statistical & data mining techniques.
  • 2 years building statistical visualizations tools in Spotfire, Tableau & MS PowerBI.
  • 2 years using pharma full lifecycle domain knowledge as an analytic consultant for cross functional teams.
  • Alternatively, a BS in statistics, mathematics, analytics, bioinformatics, data science or equivalent field, & 5 years applying data science analytics techniques in pharma industry.
  • 5 years coding using R & Python.
  • 5 years performing statistical & data mining techniques.
  • 5 years building statistical visualizations tools in Spotspotfire, Tableau & MS PowerBI.
  • 5 years using pharma full lifecycle domain knowledge as an analytic consultant for cross functional teams.
  • 1 year performing project management.
  • 1 year leading a team or cross functional initiative.
  • Work experience may be gained concurrently.
  • Will accept combination of education, training & work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support Oncology Medical & Scientific Director adoption of advanced technologies & processes for enterprise data analytics across diverse sources - Influencing medical oncology stakeholders to maximize data & analytics value.
  • Mentor, guide, & supervise junior staff & contractors.
  • Lead development & validation of innovative algorithms using advanced analytics & AI/ML.
  • Oversee analytically & clinically complex cross-functional R&D Clinical Development projects to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Represent Medical & Safety Analytics team at key regulatory, compliance, & governance meetings as a subject matter expert in oncology medical analytics.
  • Supervise resource allocation to ensure consistent analytics support & timely delivery of analytics solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, GCPs, ICH guidelines, SOPs, & stay up to date with relevant global regulatory policies.
