About The Position

Position Summary... Sam’s Club is seeking a strategic, performance-driven marketing leader to own the marketing strategy and execution supporting member retention, engagement, and loyalty. This role is responsible for developing and leading omni-channel marketing programs that deepen member engagement, increase adoption of high-value actions and loyalty programs, and drive measurable impact across the membership lifecycle. You will translate membership goals into targeted marketing strategies and campaigns that influence behavior at critical moments — from onboarding through renewal. This position partners closely with Membership, Marketing Intelligence, Product, and cross-functional marketing teams to ensure alignment, performance rigor, and measurable business impact. What you'll do... What You’ll Do Lead Retention & Engagement Marketing Strategy · Develop and execute omni-channel marketing strategies to improve member engagement, frequency, high-value action adoption, credit and loyalty program adoption, and renewal rates. · Design lifecycle marketing plans that influence behavior across onboarding, mid-cycle engagement, pre-renewal, upgrade and credit consideration, and lapsed member winback. · Activate targeted campaigns for high-risk, low-engagement, and high-opportunity segments. · Align retention and engagement marketing plans to enterprise membership priorities. Own Lifecycle Campaign Development & Activation · Lead development of retention and engagement campaigns across owned, paid, site, CRM, and in-club channels. · Partner with creative, channel, and media teams to ensure cohesive messaging and strong value articulation. · Build and manage campaign calendars aligned to renewal cycles and key business moments. · Ensure consistent reinforcement of membership value and loyalty benefits. Performance Management & Optimization · Define KPIs and performance benchmarks for retention, engagement, and upgrade marketing. · Monitor renewal rates, engagement metrics, upgrade performance, and campaign lift. · Partner with Marketing Intelligence to develop testing strategies including A/B, offer, timing, and messaging optimization. · Deliver clear hindsight reporting, insights, and recommendations for continuous improvement. · Manage budget and forecast performance against targets. Integrate Loyalty & Credit as Retention Levers · Incorporate loyalty drivers such as Credit Card, Sam’s Cash, and Bonus Offers into retention and engagement marketing strategies to support renewal and upgrade growth. · Partner with Loyalty and Credit teams to align promotional and messaging strategies. · Ensure loyalty initiatives enhance stickiness, frequency, and long-term member value. Cross-Functional Collaboration · Partner with Membership strategy teams to translate business objectives into actionable marketing programs. · Work with Product and Tech to support discovery, testing, and marketing requirements for new features. · Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to execute innovative, data-informed campaigns. · Ensure alignment and transparency across marketing and membership teams. What You’ll Bring · 7+ years of experience in retention, CRM, lifecycle, or engagement marketing in a B2C environment. · Proven experience leading marketing programs focused on renewal, churn reduction, engagement growth, or subscription value. · Strong understanding of lifecycle communications and behavior-driven marketing. · Analytical mindset with experience using data to optimize performance and inform decisions. · Experience managing omni-channel campaigns and cross-functional partnerships. · Strong communication and project management skills. · Organized, agile, and results-oriented with a bias for action. · Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree a plus. · Industry experience in retail, e-commerce, subscription, financial services, travel, or hospitality preferred. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in retention, CRM, lifecycle, or engagement marketing in a B2C environment.
