Senior Manager, Marketing Communications

GallatinWashington, DC

About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Communications to own how Gallatin shows up in the press and in front of the government decision-makers who matter most to our mission. This is a hands-on, execution-led role for someone who wants to run a public relations program directly, not manage one from a distance. You will be the person who turns Gallatin’s milestones into coverage, our technical breakthroughs into stories the defense community understands, and our leaders into credible voices in the national security and AI conversation. You will work across the company, with Product, BD, and leadership, to keep the external narrative sharp, accurate, and consistent. The playbook here is still being written, and you will write a lot of it.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive communications experience, with a meaningful stretch owning external communications and media relations directly.
  • Exceptional writing and editing across formats, from press releases and bylines to executive talking points and briefings.
  • A proven track record running PR and media programs: pitching, placing coverage, and building durable relationships with reporters and analysts.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex or technical subject matter into clear narratives for non-technical and decision-maker audiences.
  • Comfort operating with autonomy, managing announcement cadence end to end, and moving fast without a fully built function around you.
  • A collaborative, low-ego, builder mentality in environments where the playbook is still being written.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in defense, government, national security, deep tech, or AI, where translating complexity and earning credibility with technical and government audiences is central.
  • Existing relationships with defense-tech, national security, or AI press and analysts.
  • Experience at a Series A to C stage company, especially through an inflection such as a launch, contract award, or fundraise.
  • Familiarity with DoD program, acquisition, Pentagon, and/or military audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Run Public Relations and Media: Own Gallatin’s day-to-day press strategy and execution, from pitching and placing coverage to managing inbound media interest.
  • Build and maintain relationships with defense-tech, national security, and AI press and analysts.
  • Run the announcement editorial calendar for product milestones, partnerships, contract awards, and funding, owning timing, message alignment, and amplification.
  • Draft press releases, briefings, talking points, and bylines, and prepare leaders for interviews, panels, and speaking engagements.
  • Execute Marketing Communications and Content: Translate complex, AI-driven capability into clear, value-driven messaging for government decision-makers and non-technical audiences.
  • Produce and maintain core collateral, case studies, web copy, and campaign content in partnership with Product, BD, and Engineering.
  • Keep messaging consistent across channels so what the market reads, hears, and sees all reinforces the same story.
  • Translate Mission and Capability: Serve as a connective layer between Gallatin’s technical work and the narratives that bring it to life for press and DoD audiences.
  • Support executive and internal communications as needed, including all-hands content and milestone messaging.
  • Track what’s working with simple, honest measurement: coverage, share of voice, and engagement tied to the company’s goals.

Benefits

  • generous equity grant
  • full healthcare coverage
  • 401k
  • unlimited PTO
