About The Position

The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for leading a team of value stream engineers in supporting manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement, and delivering strategic business objectives across multiple value streams. This role provides technical leadership for process optimization, capital project execution, and operational problem solving to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and capacity performance. Working closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and other cross-functional partners, the manager develops engineering strategies that ensure reliable operations and support long-term growth. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and is part of the engineering team located in Logan, Utah and will be an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience including supporting manufacturing equipment, processes, and operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience coordinating the work of engineers, technicians, contractors, or other technical resources.
  • Demonstrated experience leading capital, equipment, or process improvement projects from concept through implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers to support manufacturing operations and build technical capability.
  • Provide technical leadership and day-to-day engineering support to manufacturing operations, ensuring timely resolution of issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the application of continuous improvement tools, including Value Stream Mapping, Daily Management, Kaizen, Problem Solving, and other Lean methodologies.
  • Lead process, equipment, and workflow improvement projects that increase capacity, productivity, and product quality.
  • Manage capital projects from concept through implementation, including design, commissioning, qualification, and startup.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and EHS teams to develop and execute value stream strategies that support business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Ensure engineering activities are conducted in compliance with applicable safety standards, quality systems, regulatory requirements, and company policies, including cGMP and EHS requirements.
