About The Position

The IT PMO Senior Manager provides portfolio-level leadership to ensure a centralized set of projects and programs is aligned to strategic objectives. The role maximizes business value by optimizing the portfolio investment mix – balancing risk, return, resource capacity, and financials. A Senior Manager oversees project and program prioritization, resource capacity planning, cross-project/program dependencies, and overall portfolio health. The role manages a team of full-time employees and contractors and serves as a senior escalation point to remove delivery roadblocks and may provide temporary coverage to programs and projects where needed.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of portfolio management.
  • Full knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation
  • Experience leading a team of IT project managers
  • Experience managing projects using Agile, Predictive, and Hybrid Methodologies.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing strategic IT programs with several inter-dependencies to other strategic IT programs and operations.
  • Experience leading and developing a team of project and/or program management professionals.
  • Minimum of 7 years of senior level IT professional experience such as Sr Software Developer, Sr Database Administrator, Business Analysis or related role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator; exceptional relationship builder

  • Certified Product Owner, or PMI-PMP preferred
  • PMI-PgMP Certification highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Plans and manages strategic programs with several interdependencies to other strategic programs and operations.
  • Works closely with IT and Business Leaders in plan adherence.
  • Partners with other PMO staff with financial support and staffing plans and supports the PMO Roadmap.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for IT Leadership & Teams supporting the program.
  • Leads a team of project managers which may include program managers.
  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts that could potentially put the program at risk.
  • Creates and manages program budget.
  • Communicates regularly with executive leadership on the progress and status of programs managed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
