About The Position

As a Senior Risk Manager in Capital One’s Human Resource Risk Office, you will be responsible for the management of the HR Risk assessments, applying your risk/process management and analytical skills to drive well-managed risk assessment activities. A successful risk manager operates from a foundation of knowledge about the Line of Business with whom they are working, laws/regulations, processes and associated controls, and good risk management and risk mitigation practices. They are forward thinking, quick to adapt, and technologically adept. Senior Risk Managers have a high level of exposure across HR and will work with executives and teams to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risk to the Company. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated risk or process management professional with excellent problem solving, integrative thinking, prioritization and communication skills. Additionally, building win-win partnerships with multiple business stakeholders as well as across HR functional areas, while adapting to and managing change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, are default essentials for this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 5 years of risk management experience or at least 5 years of human resource experience
  • At least 2 years of process or project management experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years of Human Resource experience
  • 5+ years of experience in process or project management
  • 3+ years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with key stakeholders or internal business partners
  • 2+ years of experience influencing senior leadership
  • Agile or Design Thinking experience
  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA), Process Level Assessments (PLA), Process Criticality Analysis (PCA), and Human Capital Risk Assessments, including International Country Risk Assessments and Exit Plan workstreams.
  • Leads multiple complex workstreams simultaneously, ensuring strategic alignment and effective stakeholder management across global footprints.
  • Supports audits of our business partners’ organizations, as applicable
  • Participates in risk forums and contributes to continuous improvement of risk management practices
  • Participates in and executes other special projects for the risk office on a periodic basis
