About The Position

We have a rewarding position available for a Senior Manager, Hardware Engineering at our Sant Clarita, CA facility. You will supervise engineering design and technical service. Perform all functions of technical consulting, conceptual design and cost estimation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in electro-mechanical packaging, electronics or computer chassis design, thermal management and structural management of electronics
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Familiar with electronic subsystems, circuit boards and debug of electronic systems
  • Extensive experience with SolidWorks, including FEA and FDA add-ons (thermal, vibration, shock, fluid flow)
  • VPX & VME Electronics Packaging experience
  • Extensive experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance to ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience in leading a cross-functional team in the development of electronic subsystems, from concept to production
  • Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews.
  • Capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities.
  • Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge and experience in military ruggedization of electronic subsystems, MIL-STD-810 qualification, and familiarity with VITA standards for electronics and mechanical form factors
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering drawings/specifications; obtains construction bids; performs construction management as required.
  • Possesses working knowledge of testing and data interpretation on vibration analysis, wear materials non-destructive testing, monitoring/failure analysis and equipment failure history analysis.
  • Performs precision machine element alignments as required.
  • Performs CAD machine duties; reads blueprints; interprets technical specifications; estimates costs and composes reports.
  • Performs stress, strain and deflection analysis; performs bearing and power transmission design analysis.
  • Provides work leadership for lower level staff.
  • Manages and analyzes the testing and feasibility studies of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies, and packaging for new and existing products.
  • Directs the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing and drafting organizations.
  • Evaluates final results of mechanical design and test to assure accomplishment of technical objectives.
  • Ensures that proper documentation, such as test specifications and procedures, is provided to the appropriate functional area.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
