The ATR Process Steward – Inventory, reporting to the Global Process Leader (GPL), plays a pivotal role in leading transformation initiatives and advancing the Accounting to Reporting (ATR) change agenda and roadmap for global inventory processes. This role serves as the end-to-end process expert, driving continuous improvement through the global process framework, benchmarking processes against industry standards, and supporting transformational programs across the ATR process. The Process Steward is a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives in a global environment, brings deep expertise in inventory accounting, and excels at influencing change across complex organizations. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in end-to-end inventory accounting, including areas such as costing, transfer pricing, intercompany trade movements and parallel valuation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis and Accounting to Reporting processes.
  • Significant knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX 404 requirements, internal controls and their impact on financial statements and end-to-end accounting processes.
  • Experience leading business process improvement initiatives or process engineering efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business, process, technology and organizational challenges through practical, data-driven solutions.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience developing business cases for process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Experience working in global organizations with an understanding of cultural differences and effective communication across regions.
  • Strong consultative, presentation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively from strategic through tactical levels.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Boston Scientific locations as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CPA, CMA or equivalent professional certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement experience.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, including knowledge of parallel valuation.
  • Additional language proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the end-to-end process expert for global inventory accounting processes by designing, updating and presenting process improvements for approval.
  • Conduct process analytics, engage stakeholders, assess cross-functional dependencies and develop scalable, standardized process designs.
  • Partner across regions, divisions and functions to balance business needs while driving global process standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze business challenges, apply industry best practices, develop recommendations and communicate project outcomes and status updates to leadership.
  • Serve as the primary contact for collecting, assessing and prioritizing inventory process improvement opportunities in support of the Global Process Leader's roadmap.
  • Support the evaluation, prioritization and execution of strategic initiatives that strengthen the global ATR roadmap.
  • Champion the global process framework by leading change initiatives, driving adoption of global standards and ensuring successful implementation across the inventory process.
  • Collaborate with Finance Process Stewards and cross-functional partners to resolve regional, divisional and functional process challenges.
  • Partner with Finance, Process Stewards, transformation teams and shared service organizations to align global performance measures and benchmarking activities.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities through performance metrics, recommend new measures and monitor results.
  • Partner with accounting teams and stakeholders to manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies while presenting recommendations to the Global Process Leader and ATR Process Council.
  • Drive governance by resolving process and performance escalations, prioritizing improvement initiatives and influencing decision-making through data-driven recommendations.
  • Present clear, compelling recommendations to governance councils and senior leaders to gain alignment and support.
