About The Position

Trackonomy is pioneering a transformative network of interconnected objects. Our goal is to bring inanimate objects to life, enabling them to communicate, think, and interact in real time. We are building the operating system for the connected world—one object and sensor at a time. Our customers span logistics, industrial, utilities, healthcare, and government sectors, using our solutions for predictive maintenance, workflow optimization, asset protection, safety, security, and environmental monitoring. Backed by leading investors including Kleiner Perkins and 8VC, Trackonomy is one of Silicon Valley’s fastest-growing IoT companies. Our executive leadership team has worked together for more than two decades, holding key leadership positions at companies including Flextronics, Heptagon, GT-Nexus, and Digital Motors Corporation. Together, they have engineered breakthrough technology that is delivering extraordinary results for customers around the world. Are you ready to be part of the next chapter in Silicon Valley’s hyper-growth IoT success story?

Requirements

  • 6–10 years in FP&A or corporate finance
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, or hardware environments — cost accounting, standard costs, yield analysis, or NRE amortization are the vocabulary of this role
  • Prior startup experience strongly preferred. You have built models in ambiguity, without a team below you.
  • Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets modeling skills
  • Python or SQL for data manipulation and analysis
  • Familiarity with IoT, electronics, or connected-device business models
  • Experience partnering directly with operations, supply chain, or engineering functions

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the company's core financial models — three-statement, scenario-based, and unit-economics level
  • Own the operating forecast across all functions — revenue, COGS, payroll, and operating expenses
  • Drive cost-down analysis across the full P&L — hardware BOM and manufacturing costs, headcount and payroll efficiency, and discretionary spend across every function
  • Partner with supply chain and operations on BOM reductions, yield improvements, and sourcing changes — and model the gross margin impact
  • Translate cost reduction opportunities into modeled savings scenarios; track and report realized impact over time
  • Support budgeting and cost management on an as-needed basis — this is a lean planning environment, not a structured annual budget cycle
  • Support strategic decisions — pricing, make vs. buy, build vs. outsource — with clean financial analysis
  • Present cost-down progress and forecast variance directly to the VP of Finance and core executive team

Benefits

  • Platinum-level health benefits
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
  • Commuter benefits
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • 401(k) plan
  • Pre-IPO equity opportunity
  • Regular performance reviews and feedback
  • Learning and development opportunities for both individual contributors and aspiring leaders
