About The Position

Groundworks, a leading foundation repair and water management specialist, is seeking a Senior Manager, Fleet Operations to oversee the day-to-day operational performance of its fleet across North America. This role involves managing over 5,000 assets across more than 90 locations, providing leadership in fleet operations, ensuring consistent execution, regulatory compliance, vendor performance, and asset readiness. The position is crucial for stabilizing operations, reducing risk, and supporting business growth by driving disciplined execution in maintenance, licensing, and compliance.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of fleet management experience in a multi-location environment.
  • Experience managing fleets of 2,000+ assets across multiple geographies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in DOT compliance, driver qualifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with large fleet management providers (e.g., Element, Enterprise, Holman).
  • Strong vendor management experience with the ability to drive accountability and performance.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including managing and developing direct reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a field-facing, service-oriented role supporting distributed teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day fleet operations across all locations, including maintenance, licensing, registration, and asset readiness.
  • Ensure consistent execution of fleet processes and standards across a distributed branch network.
  • Drive operational performance aligned to defined KPIs, including vehicle uptime and registration compliance.
  • Establish process discipline and standard workflows to improve consistency and reduce variability across locations.
  • Oversee DOT compliance, driver qualification requirements, and regulatory adherence across all jurisdictions.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit-readiness of fleet documentation and records.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and compliance risks through proactive monitoring and process improvement.
  • Manage day-to-day execution and accountability of fleet vendors, service providers, and fleet management agencies.
  • Drive resolution of escalations, ensuring timely follow-through and consistent service delivery.
  • Monitor vendor performance and enforce service expectations across maintenance, licensing, and related services.
  • Directly manage Fleet Coordinators, including workload prioritization, performance management, and development.
  • Build team capability to support increasing operational complexity, including expansion into DOT compliance and driver qualification support.
  • Foster a process-driven, accountable, and service-oriented team environment.
  • Standardize and improve fleet workflows to reduce manual processes and increase efficiency.
  • Leverage fleet systems, telematics, and data to improve operational visibility and decision-making.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as primary escalation point for branch-level fleet issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Partner closely with branch leadership and Safety to support operational needs and ensure compliance alignment.
  • Act as a key liaison between field operations, corporate teams, and external partners.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
