Job description: Position Summary Reporting to the General Manager, Group Finance (based in London, UK), the Senior Manager, Finance supports First Quantum’s continued access to capital and facilitates effective corporate governance through high quality external reporting and disclosure, in particular the Management Discussion and Analysis quarterly document; and supports the First Quantum Minerals (“FQM”) Group Finance team in ensuring all regulatory reporting requirements are met. Provides leadership and oversight of the corporate accounting function for First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (“FQML”), the parent legal entity of FQM. Manages or participates in ad hoc Group Finance or Corporate Reporting projects or initiatives.

Requirements

  • Qualified CPA, CA
  • At least 5 years of experience in a financial reporting role or within a management role in practice
  • Experience of managing teams gained from working in a leadership role in a large international, publicly traded corporation or at a senior level within practice.
  • Experience of budgetary control and cost analysis
  • Excellent leadership and mentorship skills
  • Strong financial reporting and technical accounting expertise with an understanding of the complex reporting requirements of a multinational company including group consolidations.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and governance frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills including cost analysis.
  • Proven process improvement skills
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across finance and non-finance functions
  • Confident presentation skills with ability to communicate information clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to trouble shoot technical and non-technical issues and be resourceful.
  • Positive and collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with others to achieve a common goal.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of independence and initiative, proactively managing responsibilities and identifying opportunities for improvement. Takes ownership of workstreams and operates effectively with limited direction.
  • Adherence to the highest ethical standards, demonstrating accountability, integrity and transparency in actions at all times.
