About The Position

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. About the Role: This opportunity will help lead all aspects of Wichita’s strategic and long-range business planning, financial forecasting, integrated financial analyses, and executive reporting. This role will provide leadership and direction to a team responsible for supporting complex business and financial objectives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Establishes priorities, allocates resources, and manages competing workloads to ensure successful execution of critical deliverables. Applies strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to address business challenges, make informed decisions, and drive organizational performance. Collaborates across business functions and organizational levels to align priorities, communicate effectively, and achieve desired outcomes while fostering employee development and team engagement. Performs responsibilities requiring integration of disciplines from more than one finance business management job family and/or other business functions and applies independent, specialized technical expertise to a wide range of business objectives. Activities may include, but are not limited to, the development, integration, implementation, and/or execution of multidisciplinary business processes. This position will work cross-functionally with internal and external customers and suppliers at all employee levels to carry out responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, math, or related field
  • 5+ years in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team or a project
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, with strong intellectual curiosity
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects strong follow through skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams responsible for financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and business decision support
  • Ability to manage projects and tasks requiring high levels of cross-functional coordination between multiple business functions and senior leaders
  • Strong people management, intrapersonal communication skills (written/verbal) with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Eager to improve, open for change and actively supports our performance culture

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage teams responsible for Cost Management, EAC development, and capital forecasting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive integration synergies across legacy Spirit and heritage Boeing organizations by identifying cost savings and process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and oversee complex financial models and integrated financial forecasts to support strategic and operational planning.
  • Lead variance analysis and provide actionable insights on financial performance to senior management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Program Management, and other stakeholders to align financial goals and support business strategies.
  • Manage the capital forecast process, partnering with business leaders to prioritize investments and optimize capital allocation.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, tools, and reporting capabilities.
  • Mentor, develop, and motivate finance team members, fostering a culture of high performance, engagement, and talent retention.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate financial results, forecasts, and recommendations clearly and effectively to senior leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with occasional travel (~10%).
