About The Position

Join our team as a Senior Manager, Finance – Business Strategy, where you’ll play a key role in driving strategic program execution, enterprise prioritization, and organizational alignment across the organization. In this role, you’ll translate strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps, ensuring initiatives are positioned for successful execution through clear milestones, timelines, KPIs, and value realization tracking. You’ll partner closely with senior leadership to drive strategic rigor, monitor progress against enterprise objectives, and ensure teams are equipped to deliver against key business milestones. Our team partners closely with finance and business leaders to shape Walmart U.S. priorities, drive organizational alignment, and support strategic initiatives across the business. We focus on translating complex business challenges into actionable strategies, enabling effective decision-making, and supporting leadership through financial insights, strategic analysis, and executive communications. The team plays a critical role in integrating strategic priorities into execution frameworks, governing enterprise initiative portfolios, and driving visibility into performance, risks, and opportunities across the organization.

Requirements

  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to turn complex business challenges and data into actionable insights and measurable outcomes.
  • Background in business strategy, consulting, corporate planning, program management, strategic operations, finance, or related fields.
  • Track record of managing large, cross-functional programs or enterprise-wide initiatives within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, roadmap development, governance, operating cadences, KPI frameworks, and performance management.
  • Executive communication skills, including the ability to craft clear messaging, influence leaders, and translate complex information into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, identify risks and dependencies, and influence execution across teams.
  • Experience building scorecards, metrics, and reporting frameworks that improve visibility, accountability, and decision-making.
  • Operational rigor and attention to detail, with a focus on execution excellence and delivering results.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 4 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area.
  • 1 year’s experience leading and completing cross-functional projects.
  • 1 year’s supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee strategic program and portfolio management across high-impact enterprise initiatives, ensuring alignment to organizational priorities, business objectives, and long-term value creation.
  • Own cross-functional program planning and roadmap development, ensuring initiatives have clearly defined milestones, timelines, dependencies, KPIs, ownership structures, and measurable value creation targets to enable successful execution and organizational alignment.
  • Partner closely with key leaders to strengthen alignment, inform decision-making, and maintain visibility into priority initiatives, risks, and opportunities.
  • Establish execution rigor and accountability by ensuring teams are prepared for leadership reviews with clear objectives, progress updates, and mitigation plans.
  • Monitor initiative performance and synthesize complex data into actionable insights and recommendations that influence strategic direction and business outcomes.
  • Coordinate enterprise strategic planning processes, including prioritization, initiative tracking, business reviews, and leadership operating cadences.
  • Prepare strategic analyses, business updates, presentations, and meeting materials that enable effective leadership reviews and executive communications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve governance, reporting, and operating processes to enhance organizational effectiveness and execution at scale.
