About The Position

Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Senior Manager, Family Accounting. The ideal teammate will have the demonstrated ability to lead complex accounting operations, build trusted relationships with family stakeholders, strengthen financial controls, and deliver accurate and timely financial reporting across a diverse portfolio of family entities. The Senior Manager, Family Accounting, leads the accounting team responsible for financial operations across family member accounts and entities. This role ensures accurate and timely reporting, strong financial controls, and responsive service delivery while serving as a key liaison between family office operations and the broader accounting function. The position requires a collaborative leader with strong accounting fundamentals, experience managing complex multi-entity structures, and the judgment to build trust with family stakeholders and internal partners.

Requirements

  • Strong accounting fundamentals, including GAAP, tax, financial reporting, reconciliations, fiduciary standards, and internal controls.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for complex, high-touch accounting operations.
  • Experience working with multi-entity accounting systems; Business Central experience preferred.
  • Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical updates for stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to work with family stakeholders and internal partners.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies, standardize workflows, and support automation or systems improvements.
  • Project management skills involving cross-functional stakeholders preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role.
  • Experience in a family office, private wealth, or other complex personal financial environment.
  • Experience supporting financial accounting and reporting for complex multi-entity structures.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders and manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with trust accounting, investment reporting, fiduciary standards, or philanthropic financial operations preferred.
  • Two or more years of Big Four public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Family Accounting team, including day-to-day operations, performance management, coaching, and professional development.
  • Oversee financial accounting and reporting for family entities, including trusts, personal accounts, and family-owned entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts, including cash, investments, receivables, payables, and related activity.
  • Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for family stakeholders.
  • Supervise cash activity approvals and ensure adherence to internal controls.
  • Strengthen internal control procedures related to family accounting transactions, approvals, documentation, and financial data integrity.
  • Coordinate with tax, legal, audit, investments, risk, and external advisors on reporting, compliance, and documentation needs.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency through workflow standardization, automation, and ERP optimization, including Business Central.
  • Identify and monitor metrics that support service delivery, financial health, and process quality.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary accounting point of contact for family office staff, household managers, and family members regarding accounting matters.
  • Build effective relationships with ecosystem partners and department leaders to anticipate needs and deliver high-quality service.
  • Prepare financial briefings and presentations for family leadership as needed.
