About The Position

The Arizona Cardinals are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk & Insurance to lead the organization's enterprise-wide risk management and insurance programs. This strategic individual contributor will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, financing, and mitigating risks across multiple business entities while partnering with executive leadership to protect the organization's assets and support long-term growth. This role oversees all aspects of the organization's insurance portfolio, captive insurance company, contractual risk transfer, claims administration, construction risk management, and enterprise risk initiatives. The position reports to the CFO and will work closely with Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Operations, Development, and external insurance brokers, carriers, captive manager and advisors. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced risk professional who enjoys building programs, influencing executive decision-making, and operating across a diverse portfolio of businesses. This position offers the opportunity to build and lead a sophisticated enterprise risk management program supporting one of the NFL's premier organizations and its affiliated businesses. The successful candidate will influence strategic decisions across professional sports, concessions, aviation and real estate development while working directly with executive leadership on some of the organization's most significant initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least eight (8) years of progressive risk management and insurance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large commercial insurance programs.
  • Strong understanding of property and casualty insurance structures.
  • Knowledge of contractual risk transfer and indemnification.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screening, including a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designations such as ARM, CPCU, CRM, or RIMS-CRMP preferred
  • Experience managing captive insurance companies preferred.
  • Experience with construction and real estate development risk preferred.
  • Experience in professional sports, entertainment, hospitality, aviation, or other complex multi-entity organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including insurance brokers, underwriters, third-party administrators, investigators and consultants.
  • Evaluate, recommend and administer all corporate insurance programs, including but not limited to Property, General Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Workers' Compensation, Cyber Liability, Directors & Officers Liability, Builder's Risk, Owner's Interest, Environmental/Pollution, Aviation, Automobile.
  • Proactively coordinate and prepare insurance renewal submissions.
  • Evaluate coverage adequacy, limits, deductibles, and overall program structure.
  • Analyze claims experience and recommend program improvements.
  • Coordinate loss control, risk mitigation and carrier site visits across facilities and operations.
  • Oversee administration of the organization's captive insurance company.
  • Coordinate with captive managers, brokers, actuaries, and regulatory authorities.
  • Proactively coordinate and prepare insurance renewal submissions.
  • Evaluate and recommend opportunities for expanding captive participation and optimizing retained risk.
  • Manage insurance programs associated with major capital development projects.
  • Evaluate and coordinate Builder's Risk, Owner's Interest, Pollution Liability, OCIP/CCIP, and other construction-related coverages.
  • Review contractual insurance requirements with contractors and developers.
  • Partner with Legal and Development teams on risk allocation strategies.
  • Oversee significant property, casualty, and liability claims.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between the organization, insurance carriers, claims adjusters, internal and appointed outside counsel to ensure effective management, cost control, and timely resolution.
  • Provide timely and accurate notice of claims to carriers and track compliance with policy requirements.
  • Identify trends and implement loss prevention initiatives.
  • Review contracts for insurance and indemnification provisions.
  • Recommend appropriate risk transfer mechanisms.
  • Partner with Legal during contract negotiations involving significant risk exposure.
  • Establish enterprise-wide COI requirements and standards based on type of vendor/activity and risk.
  • Oversee the process for obtaining, reviewing, tracking and renewing COIs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with insurance brokers, consultants, underwriters, actuaries, and external advisors.
  • Collaborate with Finance on budgeting and forecasting insurance costs.
  • Support Human Resources on employee-related risk matters.
  • Partner with Operations and Facilities on loss prevention initiatives.
  • Provide executive leadership with strategic recommendations regarding enterprise risk.
