About The Position

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications leads the design, delivery, and support of enterprise-wide application solutions that enable core organizational processes. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Information and Information Security Officer, this role oversees application strategy and operations, manages and develops technical and functional staff, and partners with business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business requirements, compliance needs, and long-term technology roadmaps. Enterprise applications include platforms supporting human capital, finance/procurement, and other administrative business functions (e.g., Workday, Salesforce, or comparable systems).

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 6 years of experience managing technology teams supporting enterprise applications.
Demonstrated experience overseeing enterprise applications that support large-scale, transaction-based or highly regulated business processes (e.g., financial, human capital, procurement, billing, or comparable administrative domains).
Relevant education or experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with at least 2 year(s) of experience in providing functional or operational leadership for enterprise financial, administrative, or resource management systems.
Experience managing or owning a major enterprise application platform throughout its lifecycle, including configuration, upgrades, governance, and stakeholder engagement.
Experience leading enterprise application teams in a complex, multi-system environment.
Project management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent)
IT service management, change management, or process improvement certification
Enterprise application or platform-specific certifications

Responsibilities

Leads Enterprise Application Strategy and Solution Design: Designs and configures enterprise application solutions to support organizational business processes and requirements. Analyzes business needs and translates them into sustainable system designs and configurations. Evaluates platform capabilities and limitations and recommends appropriate design approaches. Establishes functional standards, governance practices, and design guidelines for enterprise applications.
Manages Application Delivery, Enhancements, and Operational Support: Manages the end-to-end delivery of application enhancements, upgrades, and configuration changes. Oversees functional production support to maintain system stability and reliability. Coordinates with technical, integration, and vendor teams to identify and resolve system or data issues. Monitors application performance and functionality to identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
Partners with Business Stakeholders and Leadership: Works closely with business leaders and stakeholders to understand operational priorities and system needs. Serves as a consultative advisor regarding enterprise application capabilities, roadmaps, and best practices. Recommends process improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and data quality. Communicates system impacts, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Oversees Team Leadership and Workforce Development: Manages, mentors, and develops enterprise applications staff. Assigns and prioritizes work to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives and operational demands. Provides guidance to ensure consistent configuration, documentation, and support standards. Evaluates team performance and supports professional development and succession planning.
Ensures Governance, Quality, and Risk Management: Ensures compliance with enterprise application governance frameworks, documentation standards, and change management practices. Reviews functional designs, testing outcomes, and deployments to ensure quality and consistency. Identifies risks related to system changes, integrations, or upgrades and escalates issues as appropriate. Supports audit, compliance, and data governance activities related to enterprise applications.
Oversees data migration, conversion, or remediation activities during system implementations or upgrades.
Researches emerging enterprise application technologies, tools, and functional trends.
Participates in vendor evaluations, contract discussions, or implementation planning efforts.
Supports cross-functional or enterprise-level technology initiatives as assigned.
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
Performs related duties as required.
