About The Position

Origis Energy’s Services O&M Business Unit is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) to lead and scale the company’s EHS strategy, programs, and field execution across a multi-site solar and battery storage portfolio. This role provides direct leadership to the EHS team and is accountable for all safety, environmental compliance, and risk management programs for our field technicians. The Sr. Manager will drive standardization, continuous improvement, and regulatory excellence while partnering with Operations leadership to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution of all field activities. Reporting to the Director of EHS, Training, and Technical Writing, this position requires a balance of deep technical expertise, operational leadership, and organizational influence. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, proven leadership experience, and the ability to build scalable EHS programs across geographically distributed teams. The Senior Manager, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) is a regular, full-time position and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive EHS experience, including leadership of EHS professionals
  • Experience in utility-scale renewable energy, power generation, or construction environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and risk management systems
  • Strong experience leading multi-site or regional EHS programs

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Services O&M EHS strategy aligned with business objectives and operational risk profile.
  • Design, standardize, and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, and procedures across all operating sites.
  • Establish and manage leading and lagging performance indicators, driving measurable improvements in safety and environmental outcomes.
  • Lead Management of Change (MOC) processes for operational, technical, and organizational changes impacting EHS risk.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of EHS Managers and field safety professionals.
  • Establish performance expectations, accountability systems, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Build organizational capability in hazard recognition, risk mitigation, and safety leadership across all levels of Operations.
  • Influence field leadership to own safety performance.
  • Serve as the highest-level technical authority on EHS matters within the O&M organization.
  • Evaluate complex safety and environmental risks, including: Electrical safety (medium/high voltage systems), Construction and maintenance hazards, Environmental compliance (waste, stormwater, SPCC, etc.).
  • Lead serious incident investigations, ensuring rigorous root cause analysis and systemic corrective actions.
  • Review and approve high-risk work activities, mitigation plans, and non-standard operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and applicable industry standards.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, audits, and inspections, including interaction with external agencies.
  • Establish governance systems that ensure audit readiness, documentation control, and traceability.
  • Interpret evolving regulations and translate them into actionable operational requirements.
  • Evaluate contractor safety performance and intervene where standards are not met.
  • Periodically report contractor safety performance metrics to Origis Services senior leadership.
  • Define and govern the EHS training strategy and competency framework across the organization.
  • Ensure all personnel meet training and qualification requirements based on risk exposure.
  • Oversee development of technical training content and delivery systems in partnership with Training & Development.
  • Oversee environmental compliance programs including: Hazardous and universal waste, Stormwater (SWPPP), Spill prevention (SPCC).
  • Ensure proper permitting, reporting, and field execution of environmental controls.
  • Evaluate environmental risks associated with operations and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Regional and Site Operations leadership to integrate EHS into daily work execution and planning.
  • Provide strategic and technical guidance for complex operational challenges.
  • Support construction-to-operations transitions, ensuring EHS risks are properly managed.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture based on leading indicators, human performance principles, and accountability.
  • Analyze trends and implement fleet-wide improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance operational excellence and risk reduction.
