Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division (Reman) has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Divisional Manager located in Irving, TX at our Corporate Headquarters Office. The primary focus of this position is providing strategic leadership and technical support to champion a proactive EHS strategy for 4,000+ people globally. This role will report directly to Human Resources and work with our employees to continue to build a culture that is relentless in its pursuit of EHS Excellence.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply performance management tools and techniques; ability to ensure that organizational goals are met through performance planning, feedback and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Knowledge of change management techniques and the ability to manage successful transitions within an organization.
  • Knowledge of the importance of strategic thinking and the ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
  • Knowledge of environmental health and safety standards, policies and practices; ability to ensure compliance and foster a culture committed to employee safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Knowledge of planning and organizing concepts and best practices; ability to manage multiple priorities and resources to achieve business objectives.
  • Knowledge of sustainability concepts and ability to integrate sustainable practices into business processes, decisions and long-term goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Business, or a related field OR equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive progressive leadership experience in Environmental Health and Safety, preferably within manufacturing, remanufacturing, heavy equipment, industrial, or global operations environments.
  • Experience leading enterprise or division-level EHS strategy, compliance programs, audits, risk reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, partner across functions and drive alignment in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Advanced degree or professional EHS certification, such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, ASP, or equivalent certification, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides senior leadership in all areas of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) at a division level and executes the Enterprise strategic roadmap for these functions including safety culture, compliance, auditing, education, employee development, change management, and other related functions to deliver on objectives for regulatory compliance, conformance to corporate procedures, and strategic initiatives to meet division goals.
  • Serves as division EHS process owner to develop and continuously improve EHS processes, tools and training.
  • Engages division leadership to lead change and take appropriate actions to address environmental risks and protect employees from hazards in the workplace.
  • Creates the vision for change.
  • Develops and facilitates collaborative relationships within the division and across functional groups to ensure strategic goals are achieved.
  • Manages, guides and supports the development, implementation, and measurement of strategies that support Caterpillar’s Sustainable Development initiatives at the division level.
