Senior Manager, Digital Delivery & Project Management

Schneider DownsPittsburgh, PA
Hybrid

About The Position

Schneider Downs is seeking a Senior Manager, Digital Delivery & Project Management to lead the delivery operations of its growing digital consulting practice, SD Digital. This role will report to the Chief Digital Innovator and serve as a peer to the service line leaders. The primary responsibility is to ensure client projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the expected quality standards. The role involves overseeing concurrent client engagements, coordinating a team of consultants, and owning the project management discipline for the practice. This includes evolving the methodology, coaching service line leaders, and building the operational backbone for growth. As the practice scales, this role is expected to include direct reports. The company offers a hybrid work model, balancing in-office and remote work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in project and delivery management experience, with a meaningful portion in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience with an understanding of utilization, realization, WIP, and the economics of a billable team, as well as a proven track record managing a portfolio of concurrent engagements and a delivery team of 20+ consultants
  • Deep working familiarity with financial systems and processes, including AP, AR, GL, Financial Close, FP&A, and Charts of Accounts
  • Familiarity in how to apply Generative and Predictive AI tools to enhance the delivery and management of projects
  • Demonstrated executive presence and the ability to hold the room with senior stakeholders at companies in the $250M–$1B revenue range — CFOs, Controllers, VPs of Finance, and their direct reports
  • Expert user of Azure DevOps for work management, reporting, and pipeline visibility
  • Fluent in both waterfall and agile / scrum-ban delivery, and comfortable coaching teams through a hybrid model
  • Skilled at LOE review and estimation QA – you can look at a proposal and quickly spot where the math, assumptions, or the task breakdown will cause pain later
  • Experienced owner of change order processes, from identification through commercial close

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hands-on experience in an accounting or finance function (e.g., Staff Accountant, FP&A Analyst, Controller, etc.)
  • Meaningful experience delivering projects in the Microsoft ecosystem involving Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power Platform, or Copilot / Azure AI
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or SAFe certifications

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery performance across engagements (on-time, on-budget, on-quality), proactively managing risks/issues through RAID tracking, early escalation, and resolution.
  • Lead client-facing project management for complex programs, including weekly status reporting, steering committee updates, and executive communications with CFO sponsors.
  • Ensure delivery and proposal quality, reviewing LOEs for realistic timelines, complete task coverage, and accurate estimates before client submission.
  • Own delivery operations across the practice by managing weekly capacity/resource schedules to support on-time delivery and balanced utilization across four service lines.
  • Maintain Azure DevOps as the single source of truth by monitoring progress, surfacing blockers (including client-caused), and keeping engagements moving.
  • Enable predictable execution and performance by supporting backlog/sprint planning (hybrid waterfall + agile) and owning delivery KPI reporting (margin, utilization, CSAT, budget vs. actual, billed vs. scheduled).
  • Evolve the PM methodology by strengthening core templates (status, RAID, estimates, RACI) and building the playbooks, tools, and operating rhythms that make high-quality delivery repeatable.
  • Coach service line leaders to run disciplined projects on smaller engagements without a dedicated PM—providing guidance and enablement, not stepping in as the default owner.
  • Drive hybrid-agile adoption by helping teams effectively combine waterfall-style discovery with sprint-based execution.
  • Improve estimate quality on every proposal by reviewing LOEs pre-submission to increase accuracy and protect practice margins.
  • Strengthen client confidence during pursuits by joining prospect meetings to present our delivery methodology and answer questions on how we run engagements.
  • Own the change-order process end-to-end by spotting scope/timeline/effort drift from the signed SOW, partnering with service line leaders to size the change, and leading the client conversation through approval.
  • Protect project economics by ensuring all billable work is captured and invoiced, and that clients clearly understand the value delivered.
