About the team: The Walmart/VIZIO Data Science team provides the analytical foundation for product decisions by leveraging experimentation and causal measurement. The team collaborates across functions to identify key drivers of user engagement and business value, guiding strategic investments and development priorities. Utilizing advanced data science, machine learning, and visualization techniques, the team delivers actionable insights that influence business outcomes. Members apply rigorous analytical methods and domain knowledge to solve complex problems, support model development, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders, fostering data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and advanced statistical modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, or PowerBI.
  • Strong knowledge of model assessment, validation, and tuning methods including ROC curve and root mean square error.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
  • Expertise in designing experiments, causal inference, and decision science to support business strategies.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding technical teams.
  • Excellent communication skills to present data findings effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Option 1: Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 3: 7 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
