About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Engineering & Platforms to lead the global engineering, governance, and lifecycle management of Vale Base Metals’ (VBM) cybersecurity platform ecosystem. Based in Toronto, Canada, this role carries a global mandate across enterprise IT, cloud platforms, Operational Technology (OT), industrial automation, data environments, and emerging AI-enabled systems. This role owns the technology backbone that every other cybersecurity function depends on. It is accountable for: The full lifecycle of VBM’s cybersecurity platform portfolio Strategic selection, engineering, integration, and optimization of security technologies Platform rationalization and technical debt reduction Ensuring tools are architected as an integrated ecosystem — not as isolated point solutions Alignment to Zero Trust principles, cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps pipelines, and AI-driven business platforms This leader defines and enforces enterprise-wide technical security guardrails, ensuring that every major platform, transformation initiative, and digital solution follows standardized secure design patterns. They serve as the enterprise authority for cybersecurity engineering standards and secure architecture enablement. Operating within a hybrid environment that spans industrial systems, cloud-native technologies, identity ecosystems, and mission-critical operational assets, the role requires advanced technical depth, strategic thinking, and strong influence across IT, OT, Engineering, Digital, and global stakeholders.

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 11–15 years in cybersecurity engineering, architecture, or secure platform leadership
  • Proven experience leading complex engineering programs in hybrid IT/OT environments
  • Deep knowledge of Zero Trust, identity security, cloud security, and platform governance
  • Experience establishing and enforcing enterprise-wide engineering standards
  • Strong ability to lead global teams and manage outsourced service partners
  • Cybersecurity engineering and platform management
  • Identity security, endpoint protection, PAM, SIEM/logging enablement
  • Cloud security architecture and Zero Trust frameworks
  • OT/ICS security integration
  • DevSecOps and secure development pipeline governance
