About The Position

The Controller for ADI's Aerospace and Communications Business Unit is responsible for both financial analysis and business leadership, requiring strong quantitative abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills. This role seeks strategic, analytical thinkers who are results-driven and capable of innovating and developing creative financial solutions. The Controller reports to the Director of Finance and collaborates with the Business Unit Vice President to formulate strategies for accelerating profitable growth, while also partnering with the BU Leadership team to surpass financial targets, enhance operational efficiencies, and manage growth investments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Min 7+ years of accounting / finance experience.
  • 3+ years in government contract accounting.
  • Experience working in Aerospace, DOD and or Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with the Defense Contract Audit Agency, knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations requirements, and Cost Accounting Standards.
  • Proficiency in business analysis and Excel modeling.
  • Proficiency with accounting and financial software such as SAP and Qlikview or similar BI application.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills, ability to interact with senior management and present ideas in a concise and digestible manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial guidance to senior management and work with the business team to help ensure efficient business processes, strong operational results and growth for the organization.
  • Financial responsibility for all aspects of the Business Unit including revenue, gross margin analysis, OpEx & CapEx planning, reporting, and analysis, ensuring accuracy of financial results for monthly/quarterly close process.
  • Participate in the development of long-term strategic plans, budgeting process and short-term financial forecasting.
  • Challenge assumptions made in the financial plans and insure investments align with the strategic plan.
  • Ensure controls and procedures are properly followed; specifically, those around Estimates to Complete of Government sponsored programs.
  • Perform investment analysis and modeling.
  • Assist with due diligence related to potential acquisitions, providing return on investment analysis, integration and financial support.
  • Support budgeting & forecasting initiatives and financial closing cycle.
  • Provide Revenue, Gross Margin, OpEx variance analysis.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and financial objectives.
  • Review project data from project cost analyst(s) (cost, ECAC, ETC, revenue recognition, variance reports, deadline compliance, milestones, etc.) for financial impact on Business Unit P&L.
  • Collaborate with the broader ADI community design and implement enhancements to the financial & process control environments and information systems.
  • Engages with operation team to prepare reports, KPIs and analysis to track and augment operation efficiency, as well as financial performance of the entity.
  • Analyzes manufacturing variances and production activities to provide insights into the operation performance, identify risks and opportunities to mitigate risks and optimize costs on government and commercial contracts.
  • Collaborates with operations to establish product cost reduction objectives, monitor, analyze and validate saving results vs. objectives.
