About The Position

Lionsgate Canada’s Business & Legal Affairs team is actively seeking a Senior Manager, Contracts Administration to fill an existing vacancy on the team. Reporting to the Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, this role will support the deal-making that powers scripted and unscripted television - from development through production - by drafting, tracking, and administering a high volume of agreements and related processes.   We’re seeking a detail-oriented contracts professional who can manage competing deadlines, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Business & Legal Affairs (or equivalent) experience in the entertainment industry.
  • Post-secondary education in media, legal studies, business, or a related field.
  • Strong contract management skills, including reviewing, summarizing, tracking, and maintaining executed agreements.
  • Proven discretion and sound judgment when handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Experience drafting agreements and contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting corporate/entity maintenance for production companies is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA, UBCP, WGA, WGC) for production entities; prepare related form agreements, schedules, and notices.
  • Summarize closed deal terms; prepare certificates of authorship and certificates of engagement.
  • Draft development and production agreements, primarily using established templates.
  • Manage Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance applications for multiple productions.
  • Manage Canadian and U.S. copyright registrations.
  • Summarize executed contracts and maintain internal reference charts (e.g., rights, writer/cast deal terms, credit restrictions, and paid advertising summaries).
  • Support the incorporation, ongoing maintenance, and annual dissolution process for production company entities.
  • Provide administrative contract support, including locating documents and coordinating signature processes.
  • Track contract options and key dates, including option purchase agreements, series talent deals, and platform sales.
  • Contribute to special projects and departmental initiatives, as assigned.
  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners, including Finance, Development, Production, and International Sales
