About The Position

The Senior Manager of Community Outreach & Engagement leads a team dedicated to building strong relationships with homeowners, neighbors, volunteers, and community partners across Habitat Omaha’s five-county service area. This role ensures that community engagement, homeowner support, neighborhood relations, and volunteer and faith partnerships are delivered through consistent systems, strong collaboration, and a clear, mission-aligned strategy that strengthens community connection and supports Habitat Omaha’s full range of housing and neighborhood programs.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in community engagement, neighborhood relations, program management, volunteer management, or related work involving relationship-based outreach
  • A strong ability to build trust with diverse communities, partners, and stakeholders
  • A strategic mindset that allows you to see patterns, anticipate needs, and design approaches that support long-range organizational goals
  • A leadership style grounded in developing people through clarity, coaching, and collaboration
  • A natural talent for building or improving systems, processes, or engagement models in a growing or evolving area of work
  • Clear, confident communication and a relationship-centered leadership style
  • A mission-aligned approach to community-driven work

Responsibilities

  • Guide the direction of Habitat Omaha’s community engagement work by building a clear strategy, cultivating meaningful relationships, and stewarding a growing portfolio of outreach, engagement, and partnership activities.
  • Lead a team that provides consistent communication, strong connection, and responsive support to residents, partners, and homeowners.
  • Collaborate across departments to align outreach with organizational priorities, ensuring that community engagement supports program pipelines, strengthens neighborhood trust, and elevates community voice.
  • Represent Habitat Omaha in community partnerships and help build the systems and capacity needed for a sustainable, scalable engagement that supports long-range organizational goals.
  • Strengthen Habitat Omaha’s connection to residents, partners, and volunteers by shaping a coordinated, community-centered approach to engagement across all programs.
  • Build the systems, practices, and team capacity needed for consistent, reliable outreach that supports participation in homeownership, home repair, housing counseling, title clearing, and TODD services.
  • Deepen neighborhood trust by ensuring residents experience clear communication, responsive support, and meaningful opportunities to engage before, during, and after Habitat’s work.
  • Guide the development of community-led engagement opportunities and partnerships that elevate residents’ voices and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Align volunteer and faith engagement with organizational needs, supporting the identification and cultivation of skilled and core volunteers and ensuring volunteer experiences reflect Habitat’s values.
  • Create a cohesive engagement ecosystem that connects community outreach, homeowner support, neighborhood relations, and volunteer partnerships.
  • Build the internal infrastructure that allows community engagement to scale by establishing clear workflows, strengthening cross-department collaboration, and developing a team that operates with clarity, accountability, and continuous learning.
