About The Position

The ‘Commercial Planning & Assessment Senior Manager’ will be responsible for designing, assessing, implementing, and tracking global supply allocation scenarios in situations where Pfizer products are in short supply. This will entail working across a broad cross-functional organization including Commercial, Manufacturing, and Finance colleagues to gather information and devise potential options for allocating supply. These proposals will aim to minimize the global patient/financial/strategic impact, in a fair and impartial manner. In addition, this role will support other ad hoc business case development, commercial assessments, and prioritization activities across all of Pfizer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is required
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in commercial finance, operations, analytics, management consulting, or related discipline within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder relationship skills
  • Advanced Excel skills are required
  • Prior experience extracting and combining data from disparate systems and building complex analytical models in Excel
  • Ability to understand and leverage large data sets and unstructured information across commercial, finance, and manufacturing areas for strategic decision making
  • Strong problem-solving skills within complex environments
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Lead global supply allocation process during situations where product supply is unable to meet global commercial demand
  • Partner with PGS Manufacturing, Finance, and Core markets (US, China, Germany, France, and Japan) / ICO (International Commercial Office) to understand and forecast the impact of global supply risks (patient, financial, strategic impact)
  • Analytically assess the supply allocation that results in an optimal prioritized allocation
  • Create presentation materials for leadership that clearly communicate the supply situations, allocation decisions, and expected impact
  • Interact with Commercial and Manufacturing leaders to inform them of the situation and if needed seek recommendations around the proposed allocation plans
  • Track the allocation implementation plans over time, identifying concerns and delays when they arise
  • Support ad-hoc business needs across CPM's strategic capabilities (AI and Portfolio Optimization)
  • Support business case development and assessments across a variety of potential global Pfizer situations
  • Partner with commercial colleagues to thoroughly develop strong business cases from scratch, involving appropriate partner-lines and subject-matter experts where appropriate
  • Use detailed analytical and financial experience to own robust commercial modeling and financial evaluations of opportunities
  • Leverage strong communication skills to simplify complicated concepts, develop persuasive business case materials/decks, and present to case partners and senior management seeking decisions
