About The Position

The Senior Sales Training role is designed to onboard and develop new sales representatives supporting phacoemulsification training across Bausch + Lomb’s Retina and Cataract surgical businesses. The Phaco Training Specialist will provide structured training, mentorship, and hands-on support to ensure new hires gain technical knowledge, procedural confidence, and selling skills required to support surgeons, clinical teams, and customers in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the cataract surgical space with focus on phacoemulsification demos, troubleshooting, optimization of sales and/or training on equipment
  • Strong presentation, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively for training and field support.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive phaco training programs for new hires supporting retina and cataract, including product knowledge, surgical workflow, procedural terminology, and consultative selling strategies.
  • Facilitate classroom sessions, virtual learning, hands-on wet labs, and case-based training to reinforce phacoemulsification knowledge and procedural proficiency.
  • Guide new hires through the first 90–180 days, ensuring smooth integration into retina and cataract territories and alignment with field expectations.
  • Accompany new hires on customer visits to model best practices in surgeon engagement, OR etiquette, and retina and cataract customer interactions.
  • Provide real-time feedback and coaching during live case observations, product demonstrations, and phaco-related training activities.
  • Monitor progress and create individualized development plans to accelerate performance.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of phacoemulsification systems, cataract surgical workflow, retina-related procedural environments, and associated surgical technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
