About The Position

The Senior Manager, Capital Investment is responsible for supporting and leading key aspects of the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Finance function, including the evaluation of strategic capital investments, development of business cases and approval requests, financial modeling, project tracking, and executive reporting. This role partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Business Development, and Finance leadership to ensure capital investments align with the company’s Long-Term Plan (LTP), deliver expected financial returns, and support sustainable business growth.

Requirements

  • Completion of a university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project investments, corporate finance, business valuation, strategy, or a related financial discipline.
  • Prior leadership experience within a finance function; experience in food manufacturing is considered a strong asset.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills with strong knowledge of Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback, and investment analysis methodologies.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret data, identify key insights, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience developing executive presentations, business cases, and Board-level materials.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and continuously improve processes and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across finance, operations, engineering, and commercial functions.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or professional designation such as CPA, CFA, or CBV is strongly preferred.
  • CPA, CFA, CA, CBV, or equivalent professional designation.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or other ERP platforms is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CAPEX Finance function by managing the financial oversight of capital projects that support the company’s Long-Term Plan (LTP).
  • Compile and analyze monthly and year-to-date capital spend, forecasts, and project performance, including budget tracking, timelines, risks, and key actions.
  • Partner with Engineering and project stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and monitor capital projects while maintaining accurate cash and accrual-based spend forecasts.
  • Track and document changes to approved capital projects, quantify the financial impact on business KPIs, and ensure compliance with capital governance processes.
  • Develop and maintain methodologies for reporting, tracking, and analyzing project-related operating expenditures.
  • Prepare financial analyses, KPI dashboards, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making and executive reviews.
  • Lead the development of complex financial models to evaluate capital investment opportunities and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Prepare investment approval requests (ARs), business cases, executive summaries, and supporting presentations for leadership teams and Board-level reviews.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Business Development to evaluate new initiatives and investment opportunities.
  • Conduct post-investment reviews (PIRs) and assess project outcomes against original business case assumptions.
  • Support fixed asset management activities, including capitalization of construction-in-progress (CIP), impairment assessments, and asset write-offs.
  • Provide financial leadership and change management support for SAP S/4HANA implementation and project systems enhancements.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop members of the CAPEX Finance team, ensuring strong technical and business knowledge while fostering independent leadership capabilities.
  • Produce high-quality executive presentations and reporting materials to communicate findings, recommendations, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing capital planning processes, reporting tools, financial models, and decision-support capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, food safety standards, and health and safety regulations.
