Senior Manager, Capacity Planning

Lila SciencesCambridge, MA
$140,000 - $172,667

About The Position

Lila Sciences is seeking a Senior Manager, Capacity Planning to join the team as the company moves from research into commercial-scale operations. You will own the models, processes, and cross-functional rhythms that translate demand from go-to-market commitments partnerships into the delivery and operational capacity required to meet it profitably. Capacity planning is the connective tissue between what we sell and what we can deliver. Done well, it lets Lila commit confidently to customers and partners, invest ahead of demand without waste, and grow the commercial business on a sound operational footing. You'll be the person who makes that discipline real. This is a highly cross-functional role positioned at the intersection of Finance, Product, Commercial, AI, and Experimental teams. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for capacity and resourcing across the proposal pipeline, establish the source of truth for capacity commitments, and design the system required to scale our AI Science Factories.

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years of experience in strategic finance, business or revenue operations, or operations.
  • Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing a planning tool, system, or process.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to redesign workflows and drive measurable impact.
  • Ability to learn a technical, scientific, or equipment landscape quickly and translate it into strategic processes.
  • Experience defining a data model or planning framework from first principles, including units of measure and standard definitions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders across multiple disciplines while operating with ownership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, operations, or a directly related technical field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience standing up a capacity or resource planning function from scratch.
  • Exposure to or technical expertise in deep-tech, biotech, life sciences, or AI/platform businesses.
  • Familiarity with building repeatable processes and systems alongside highly technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build, own, and execute end-to-end capacity planning processes for every commercial proposal and scientific capability.
  • Translate demand forecasts into resource, staffing, and capacity plans while identifying bottlenecks and quantifying the cost and lead time to close them.
  • Maintain the authoritative record of capacity commitments across the active pipeline.
  • Define standard units of measure, batch definitions, and workflow-to-demand mappings that connect Operations, Scientific, Commercial, and Financial data into a single Integrated Business Plan.
  • Design and build the evolving toolset required to support Integrated Business Planning for the lab of the future.
  • Partner with Product and deal teams to embed capacity assessment early while informing company roadmap and strategy.
  • Distill complex, ambiguous operational data into clear recommendations for audiences ranging from individual scientists to executive leadership.

Benefits

  • competitive base compensation with bonus potential
  • generous early-stage equity
  • medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • flexible time off with generous company wide holidays
  • paid parental leave
  • an educational assistance program
  • commuter benefits, including bike share memberships for office based employees
  • a company subsidized lunch program
