About The Position

Profit Recovery Partners (PRP) is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Optimization with experience in consulting to develop and negotiate innovative expense reduction solutions for large enterprise clients. This role involves consulting directly with CFOs and CIOs, managing expense reduction projects from assessment to negotiation, and identifying savings based on infrastructure, vendor contracts, and pricing schedules. The ideal candidate will have a passion for consulting, extensive knowledge in cost optimization, and the ability to think outside the box to develop solutions for large enterprise clients. A subject matter expert in Telecommunications & Network cost optimization is highly desired, with deep experience managing enterprise voice, data, network, and carrier environments. This role combines operational oversight, contract negotiation, financial analysis, vendor management, and client strategy to reduce costs while improving service performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree required.
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience with consulting and/or price negotiation.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of cost optimization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Expert ability with the analysis of data in MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication and written skills with attention to details.
  • Exceptional team player; work well with cross-functional teams & with diverse levels within the organization.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and highly organized; able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.
  • Sense of urgency and timely deliveries.

  • Deep experience managing enterprise voice, data, network, and carrier environments.
  • Specialization in Telecommunications Services – Reviewing and optimizing enterprise voice, data, internet, MPLS, SD-WAN, broadband, VoIP services across complex, multi-location environments.
  • Specialization in Network Cost Optimization – Identifying above-market pricing, duplicate circuits, outdated services, unused capacity, billing errors, and opportunities to simplify network architecture and reduce recurring costs.
  • Specialization in Vendor and Contract Negotiations – Leading carrier and service-provider negotiations, benchmarking pricing, reviewing commercial terms, managing renewals, securing credits, and improving service-level and contractual protections.
  • Specialization in Telecom Channel Expertise – Understanding how to operate effectively across the telecommunications channel, including direct carriers, agents, brokers, master agents, resellers, and managed service providers.
  • Specialization in Invoice, Inventory, and Usage Analysis – Analyzing telecom invoices, contracts, service inventories, utilization data, and location-level configurations to identify savings opportunities and validate that clients are paying for the correct services.
  • Specialization in Carrier and Provider Management – Managing relationships with major telecommunications providers, holding vendors accountable for service performance, resolving billing and operational issues, and supporting escalations.
  • Specialization in Implementation and Savings Realization – Managing projects from initial analysis through negotiation, service changes, implementation, billing validation, and confirmed savings.
  • Specialization in Strategic and Operational Leadership – Leading client engagements, project timelines, team execution, process improvement, and automation initiatives while partnering with IT, finance, procurement, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and present data that helps clients decide how best to reduce their expenses.
  • Review organizational processes/systems and uncover expense reduction opportunities for our clients by applying industry expertise, business acumen, and analytical skill.
  • Negotiate, or consult with clients on how to negotiate, best-in-class pricing and business terms with vendors on new contracts and licensing agreements.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and present on industry trends, vendor contract terms, and pricing changes.
  • Lead a team of 3-4 direct reports responsible for their own projects from start to finish and assisting with analysis, work product creation and client presentation support.
  • Contributes to P&L management.
  • Manage project timelines/milestones and action items.
  • Develop and follow defined Practice Group and Company processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking and ability to resolve complex and sensitive client issues.
  • Maintain healthy and productive relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendor executives.
  • Present or assist in the presentation of savings and new project opportunities to clients.
  • Provide credibility to sales process including developing the value propositions, attending strategic sales calls, and conducting ongoing sales training.
  • Prepare effective analysis and documentation regarding savings opportunities available to existing and prospective clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
