About The Position

The Sr. Manager Business Operations SeaStar, Canada, is responsible for tracking business results, performing cost-benefit analyses and monitoring KPIs. Analyze financial and customer information, research the consumer market and evaluate the cost of running a business versus the profit. Measure the efficiency of systems and procedures. Build processes based on our business goals. Manages a team of experienced professionals with a focus on policy and strategy implementation, as well as implementing short-term operational plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in commercial and operations-oriented activities with at least eight (8) years in key management roles directly responsible for Operations and/or Supply Chain Planning functions
  • Deep knowledge of planning / SI&OP process and understanding of business / financial goals to provide strategic direction is required
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding goals and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all functions
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with ERP systems required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or MBA in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification and Supply Chain certification (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP, IBF or equivalent) preferred
  • SAP/APO experience highly preferred
  • Chemical industry experience preferred
  • Private equity experience preferred
  • Demonstrated use of OpEx techniques and methodology to lead continuous improvement efforts through effective problem solving and implementation of corrective action plans

Responsibilities

  • Develops supply chain strategy in line with business strategy.
  • Accountable for the development and execution of budgets/action plans in order to achieve established targets.
  • Develops the North America supply chain organization to ensure that the targets of the purchasing department can be reached.
  • Works collaboratively with corporate functions, commercial, the manufacturing plants, and other global geographies on a daily basis and to achieve objectives.
  • Participates in development, modification and improvement of procedures, policies and processes within organization, including adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Drives the use of consistent tools and processes across functions, enabling all functions to optimize results.
  • Works collaboratively with plant purchasing to help resolve chronic supply issues.
  • Responsible for NA SI&OP process.
  • Maintain senior leader engagement in the SI&OP process to ensure that decisions are taken within the process.
  • Maintenance and accuracy of master data.
  • Leads/participates in projects to address strategic supply chain questions.
  • Ensures capacity and capabilities are in place to deliver business unit growth and innovation plans across all business segments.
  • Contributes to the development of a production/distribution network strategy including locations, size and capability of each facility and mix of internal and external manufacturing.
  • Drives evaluation and approval process for capacity, retrofit and major productivity projects.
  • Manages development, roll-up and communication of North America demand forecasting and inventory management, finance and manufacturing operations across all sites.
  • Develops, communicates and monitors production plans to meet customer service and inventory targets in partnership with manufacturing sites.
  • Collects, analyzes, consolidates, and reports Supply Chain data, aiming to improve customer service, optimize inventory levels, and deliver cost improvements.
  • Drive business decisions on tradeoffs including customer service and finance.
  • Participates in new product development teams in introduction and release of new products and if applicable, phase out of old product, control inventory levels and customer service implications related to bringing products on-line and effective reduction of obsolete inventory exposure.
