About The Position

The Senior Manager, Business Operations & Insights plays a key role within the Office of the OCIO Business Management function, supporting ScotiaTech priorities. This role is responsible for workforce planning, financial oversight, and reporting, working in close partnership with the Director, Strategy & Business Management and OCIO leadership team to ensure a consistent, data-driven view of priorities, performance, and progress. The role combines strong analytical depth with the ability to synthesize and translate data into clear, actionable insights, enabling senior leadership to make informed decisions and drive execution across the OCIO.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 8–10+ years of experience in business management, financial planning, workforce planning, or reporting/analytics
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, and variance analysis
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and executive-ready messaging
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with high attention to detail and quality control
  • Experience building dashboards and reporting (e.g., Power BI or similar tools)
  • Ability to connect data to business context and inform decision-making (not just reporting)
  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to partner across Strategy, Finance, and Technology teams
  • Strong planning and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and adapting to evolving priorities within a dynamic environment
  • Experience leveraging automation and AI tools to enhance reporting, insights, and productivity.
  • Experience in Financial Services, Technology, or large-scale transformation environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead core business activities including planning, reporting dashboards, and executive materials to provide a clear view of business performance
  • Lead workforce planning and headcount management for OCIO (tracking, forecasting, scenario analysis), ensuring alignment to priorities, capacity, and demand
  • Own financial management activities including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and run rate tracking in partnership with Finance
  • Own the OCIO reporting layer, consolidating inputs across teams into a single, accurate view of performance, priorities, and key metrics
  • Translate complex financial, workforce, and operational data into clear insights, narratives, and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools (dashboards, scorecards, KPI tracking) to provide consistent visibility into progress, outcomes, and areas requiring action
  • Run core business cadences (e.g., monthly reporting cycles, leadership reviews, enterprise asks), ensuring quality, consistency, and follow-through
  • Drive initiative tracking and execution discipline across OCIO and ScotiaTech priorities, ensuring alignment on milestones, risks, and dependencies
  • Partner closely with Strategy, HR, and Finance leads to align on priorities, workforce plans, and enterprise reporting outputs
  • Improve operational effectiveness by standardizing templates, streamlining workflows, and enhancing how data is collected, structured, and reported
  • Leverage automation and AI tools to improve efficiency in reporting, data synthesis, and insights generation, while maintaining strong controls
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders across the Bank, to support delivery against priorities and objectives.
