About The Position

The Senior Manager of Business Intelligence leads the BI function's day-to-day operations, translating sales, inventory, customer, and delivery/logistics data into actionable insights that drive business performance across Broad River Retail. This role bridges the gap between BI strategy set by senior leadership and hands-on execution by the analytics team — managing a team of analysts, owning key reporting and dashboarding infrastructure, and partnering closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Store Operations, Distribution/Logistics, and Finance to ensure decisions are grounded in reliable, timely data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related roles, with at least 2–3 years in a people-management or team-lead capacity.
  • Retail industry experience, with strong understanding of retail KPIs (sales per square foot, sell-through, GMROI, comp sales, inventory turns, etc.); furniture/big-ticket or specialty retail experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with BI/visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or MS Fabric).
  • Strong SQL skills; experience working with large relational databases and/or cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience with retail-specific systems (POS, e-commerce platforms, inventory/ERP such as STORIS, delivery/logistics scheduling systems, loyalty/CRM programs).
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis or predictive modeling (Python).
  • Experience supporting omnichannel retail (showroom + e-commerce) or delivery-based retail models.
  • Change management experience, particularly around driving BI/data adoption across an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of BI analysts, developers, and data engineers.
  • Set team priorities, allocate resources across competing business requests, and manage project timelines.
  • Establish performance goals and conduct regular reviews for direct reports.
  • Recruit and onboard new BI talent as the team scales.
  • Own the roadmap for enterprise dashboards and self-service reporting tools including advancements with artificial intelligence.
  • Ensure that dashboards and KPIs are accurate, consistent, and aligned to how the business operates.
  • Standardize metric definitions across departments to eliminate "multiple versions of the truth".
  • Oversee BI tool administration (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Jira) including governance, licensing, and access management.
  • Serve as the primary BI liaison to Merchandising, Marketing, Store Operations, Distribution/Logistics, and Finance leadership.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into clear analytical projects and deliverables.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Support seasonal planning cycles (e.g., promotional calendars, floor-set/assortment planning, inventory forecasting) with timely data support.
  • Partner with other leaders to ensure the data warehouse and pipelines support retail-specific reporting needs (POS, e-commerce, inventory/ERP, delivery scheduling, CRM/loyalty).
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reduce reporting latency, and automate manual processes.
  • Evaluate and recommend new BI tools, and AI tools, along with other technologies, or vendors as needed.
  • Lead deep-dive analyses on topics such as customer segmentation, product/category performance, price and promotion effectiveness, showroom performance benchmarking, and delivery/logistics efficiency.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in retail sales performance and proactively surface them to leadership.
  • Support measurement frameworks for marketing campaigns and merchandising initiatives.

  • Paid time off and holiday benefits
  • 401(k) or retirement savings plan with company match
  • Employee discounts at Broad River Retail locations
