About The Position

As the Senior Manager, Business Development, you will drive new business acquisition for Scotia Jarislowsky Fraser through the design and execution of key initiatives and the ongoing management of activities that support business development efforts. You will provide dedicated focus to this important area, partnering with Scotia Jarislowsky Fraser Regional Directors, sales teams, Executive Office colleagues, and other partners across the enterprise to enhance the profile and positioning of SJF and maximize business growth. The role also includes responsibility for marketing and communications support that helps drive business growth in SJF Offices Nationally. The role is focused on maximizing the sales effectiveness of the business and includes responsibility for marketing and communications support that helps drive growth. In this role, you will lead a broad range of business development, sales enablement, marketing and communications activities.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education
  • Experience in marketing and/or business development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Wealth Management business, preferably gained within an Advisory channel environment
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to facilitate the development of a positive and effective team environment
  • The ability to influence and partner effectively
  • The ability to continually challenge the status quo, set a positive example for change, and encourage others to do the same to facilitate the achievement of a customer-focused sales culture.
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of new business development and marketing initiatives, including participating in annual business and strategic planning, creating and managing annual marketing plans and budgets, leading the execution of marketing activities, designing and managing sales campaigns, and implementing processes to track effectiveness.
  • Proactively and reactively support the marketing needs of the business, including managing relationships with marketing partners, identifying and developing new content, collaborating on content integration, coordinating requests for marketing materials, identifying opportunities and leading client event planning, and managing the online presence.
  • Deliver inside sales support to Scotia Jarislowsky Fraser staff by acting as a key resource for sales pitches and packages, providing guidance on presentations and materials, and complementing local business development activities.
  • Manage Scotia Jarislowsky Fraser sales and recognition programs, including overseeing criteria for President’s Council, providing recommendations to leadership, identifying opportunities to enhance compensation programs, ensuring tracking and reporting for transparency, and understanding competitor strategies.
  • Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and relevant risk appetite statements and limits, including communicating risk culture and expectations, and ensuring adherence to business controls.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team, including fostering an inclusive environment, applying a coaching mindset, communicating vision and values, and managing succession and development planning.
