About The Position

This role is in-office located near downtown Austin, TX. You must be local or willing to re-locate. Our client, a rapidly growing company in the Home Services space, is hiring a Sr. Manager, Business Development to help drive the company’s next phase of growth through strategic partnerships and new business development initiatives. This is a hands-on, in-office role for a commercially minded operator who is energized by relationship-building, complex deal work, and turning conversations into partnerships that drive growth. You will work closely with the CEO to support large, high-priority strategic partnerships—including enterprise and channel relationships similar to USAA—while also owning your own pipeline of business development opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who can operate credibly with senior external stakeholders, manage cross-functional deal execution, and independently advance new opportunities. This role reports directly to the CEO and partners closely with Operations, Marketing, Product, Finance, and other leaders across the company.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, consulting, or related commercial roles.
  • Experience working in a growth-stage company, ideally within tech-enabled services, marketplace, home services, or other operationally complex businesses.
  • Track record of supporting or leading complex partnership discussions with external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing deals that require coordination across multiple internal functions and decision-makers.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to evaluate partnership opportunities through strategic and commercial lenses.
  • Comfort with pipeline management, presentations, partnership economics, and basic deal modeling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including with executives and external partners.
  • Comfortable working with modern business tools (e.g., CRM systems, Excel/Sheets, presentation tools, and collaboration platforms).
  • High ownership mentality; proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating with limited structure.
  • Strong relationship-builder with executive presence and sound judgment.
  • Pragmatic and business-minded; able to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
  • Clear communicator who works well in a highly collaborative, in-person environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnerships Support the CEO in developing, managing, and closing large strategic partnerships with enterprise and channel partners.
  • Help drive partnership processes end to end, including research, outreach support, meeting preparation, follow-up, internal coordination, and deal execution.
  • Prepare presentations, business cases, and partnership materials tailored to prospective partners and executive audiences.
  • Track key workstreams, decision points, and dependencies across active strategic partnership discussions.
  • Help structure partnership opportunities so they align with growth strategy, operational capabilities, and brand standards.
  • Business Development & Pipeline Ownership Own and advance a pipeline of business development opportunities, from prospecting through qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and close.
  • Identify and prioritize new partner categories, target accounts, and market opportunities that can accelerate growth.
  • Build and maintain strong external relationships with prospective partners, referral sources, and other ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management, CRM hygiene, and reporting on activity, conversion, and partnership outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Deal Execution Work cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Finance, Legal, and Marketing to evaluate opportunities and support execution of partnership initiatives.
  • Translate external partner needs into clear internal action items and ensure follow-through across teams.
  • Serve as a trusted extension of the CEO in meetings and communications with prospective and active partners.
  • Support launch planning, pilot coordination, and relationship management for new partnerships as needed.
