Senior Manager, AI and People Transformation

MongoDB•New York, NY
•$115,000 - $198,000

About The Position

This role focuses on translating senior strategy into actionable goals and operating rhythms, leading high-impact People transformation and AI initiatives. The objective is to simplify work, enhance employee experiences, and create scalable capacity within the organization. The position involves designing and leading end-to-end workflow transformations, integrating AI, automation, self-service, and enterprise systems to fundamentally scale how work is accomplished. The candidate will translate complex business challenges into future-state workflows, technical requirements, experiments, and cross-departmental implementation plans. A key aspect of the role is rapid prototyping and testing of solutions using AI and low/no-code platforms to establish best practices, validate concepts, and set technical standards. The Senior Manager will partner with senior People Team leaders and functional experts to align resources, set priorities, and drive high-value opportunities from concept to division-wide implementation. Collaboration with IT leadership is crucial for translating business needs into technical requirements, informing cross-functional systems design, and advising on build-vs-buy trade-offs. The role emphasizes designing reusable, cross-departmental capabilities across People workflows to improve quality, performance, and scale, rather than creating isolated solutions. Establishing key metrics to track the operational impact of transformation, including process performance, capacity created, cross-functional adoption, and employee/manager experience, is also a core responsibility. Finally, the role involves developing practical frameworks, standards, and toolkits to empower cross-functional teams in identifying, testing, and applying AI and transformation capabilities.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional experience, with 8+ years of progressive leadership specifically across transformation, operations, strategy or consulting, ideally within People/HR or a high-growth technology environment.
  • Experience in consulting, program management, product management, or a similar cross-functional role, bridging business and technical teams to shape roadmaps, navigate trade-offs, and drive solutions from discovery through adoption.
  • Strong understanding of AI and automation and the ability to translate emerging capabilities into practical business solutions.
  • A builder mindset, with experience prototyping, experimenting, and rapidly testing new approaches to drive organizational change.
  • Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex, ambiguous cross-functional problems and scale performance across the Business Unit.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives, align cross-functional teams around a shared vision, and hold stakeholders accountable for outcomes without direct authority.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and bringing teams together around a common future state.
  • Strong judgment and comfort moving between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
