Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
About The Position
The Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering is the global leader of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering function. The role provides leadership, direction, and support to Manufacturing, Industrial, and Process Engineering teams to create safe and efficient processes internally and externally while ensuring quality products and services. The position offers a hybrid work environment, combining virtual work and office attendance when required. Candidates outside the Houston, Texas area may be considered. Domestic and international travel of up to 25% is required. This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
- Six Sigma or other advanced quality training, as well as Lean training.
- At least 10 years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience across multiple manufacturing disciplines or situations.
- At least five years of experience leading Manufacturing Engineer teams and completing multiple major projects with proven results.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of Minitab and AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, assembly operations, quality audits, metrological instruments, inspection processes, SPC, TQM, document control, process change, and change leadership.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others.
- Ability to encourage and facilitate cooperation, teamwork, and morale.
- Ability to work independently under limited supervision.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards.

Responsibilities
- Hire, train, equip, and evaluate manufacturing engineers.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Work with Quality and HSE organizations to assess and continually improve or develop controls and standards for new and existing processes and products.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow; design equipment and workspace layouts for maximum efficiency.
- Confer with planning and design staff about product design, materials, tooling, and equipment needs to ensure efficient production methods.
- Confer with vendors to determine specifications and arrange purchases of equipment, materials, or parts; evaluate and validate supplier equipment.
- Support management, engineering, and others on manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and related considerations.
- Identify improvement opportunities using statistical methods to analyze existing operations and estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Lead Operational Excellence activities, including Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, QDIP Boards, and Total Preventative Maintenance.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
