About The Position

The Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics leads analytics work for a business area, category, or prototype, developing data models and advanced analytics solutions to drive business results. The role manages projects end-to-end, including prototype development, implementation, testing, validation, and management of implementation risks. It works with senior leaders, business partners, functional leadership, cross-functional teams, external business partners, and vendors to identify business issues, establish research objectives, and deliver actionable recommendations informed by market insights and data analysis.

The position builds and leads a team, coaches and mentors associates and managers, provides feedback, supports career development, and maintains team engagement. It also develops data-analysis strategies and consultative solutions, collaborates with Advanced Analytics Experts on analysis techniques, and supports data-driven decision-making. The role is based at 811 Excellence Dr, Bentonville, AR 72716.

The employer requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field, plus three years of experience in data analytics or related experience. Requirements

• Experience using Python programming to create data validations.
• Experience with advanced data-analysis techniques, including clustering, correlation analysis, feature engineering, and dimension reduction, to prepare data for demand-forecast modeling.
• Experience with statistical modeling for order replenishment to optimize store-level orders and balance cost-effective strategies, reduce waste, and minimize out-of-stocks.
• Experience developing SQL data pipelines for data preparation to support forecasting models.
• Advanced SQL skills for extracting insights from client data and improving the accuracy and reliability of analysis and validation.
• Experience using Power BI and Python to create dashboards, visualizations, and data stories communicating cost savings, forecast accuracy improvements, and inventory-management improvements.
• Experience analyzing retail sales datasets, detecting anomalies, and identifying patterns such as seasonality, cannibalization, and price elasticity.
• Experience piloting and commissioning incremental upgrades for Product Enhancement Delivery and prioritizing and managing backlogs.
• Experience establishing and implementing governance structures for agile projects.
• Experience performing requirements elicitation, gap analysis, stakeholder collaboration, data analysis, process-flow creation, and concise reporting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consult stakeholders and apply suggestions to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Participate in and support community outreach events.
• Build and lead a team to execute business-area or category objectives; coach team members, provide feedback, support development conversations where applicable, and maintain motivation and engagement.
• Mentor less experienced associates and managers.
• Consult with senior leadership and business partners to understand objectives, identify business issues, and formulate ideas to address current and future challenges.
• Confirm functional research objectives and oversee development of tactical research plans.
• Manage creation of actionable recommendations and present them to senior directors or directors; serve as a subject matter expert on market insights.
• Own multiple projects end-to-end for a business area, category, or prototype, and manage implementation risks.
• Develop data models and collaborate with project teams to implement modeling solutions.
• Manage development and implementation of prototypes and production-ready complex algorithms, including testing and validation.
• Collaborate with Advanced Analytics Experts to develop new data-analysis techniques.
• Manage development and application of advanced analytics to address business and technical problems and support data-driven decision-making.
• Make strategic recommendations to analytics leadership based on data analysis and support development of team data-analysis strategies.
• Collaborate with functional leadership and cross-functional teams to develop consultative solutions for multiple projects.
• Interact and collaborate daily with external business partners and vendors.
• Use Python to create data validations; apply advanced data-analysis techniques to prepare data for demand-forecast modeling.
