About The Position

The Senior Manager of Accounting is responsible for oversight of the accounting function and plays a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making. The Senior Manager will report to the Senior Director, Finance and Assistant Controller and will be required to attend occasional in person meetings in the Parsippany, NJ office with a strong preference to be located in the Northeast.

  • Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, ADP, Concur, and Equity Edge a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage a monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close, including ensuring accurate and timely completion of deliverables and setting up the calendar of events for the close and year-end processes
  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including cash/investment reporting and payroll
  • Review semi-monthly and ad hoc payroll processing and, if needed, serve as the backup preparer
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for complex areas such as clinical trial, incentive compensation accruals, prepaids, intercompany accounting, and other areas as assigned
  • Ensure proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger (GL) in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee fixed assets and lease accounting, including review of supporting schedules for quarterly reviews
  • Assist with monthly reporting for foreign subsidiaries and associated recording of entries
  • Analyze, prepare, and review GL account reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist with preparing supporting schedules for annual audit and quarterly reviews
  • Contribute to the development of financial accounting systems required to maintain accounting and reporting requirements
  • Approve, review, and maintain schedules and ad hoc financial reports
  • Research, problem-solve, and respond to questions about the GL and financial reports
  • Serve as primary contact for both internal and external auditors
  • Assist in process and system improvement initiatives
  • Assist with various miscellaneous projects as assigned (e.g., state and federal tax returns, 401k audits, etc.)
